  3. Did a big pop the other day, all had to be lowered as it covered 3 gardens. before I started the customer said to me " I was going to do it myself you know" I replied with "glad you didn't or you wouldn't have been here to see your kids open there presents this Christmas" Some people just have no idea what we do sometimes lol

    Goats willow

It takes ages to dry but goes nice and light! I find notty bits a bugger to split with a splitter as it just compresses rather than pop open and ends up cutting it rather than splitting it
  5. I don't have a technique as this is my first time and in fact new to milling altogether, the wood has at least been down for about 3 months as I've only just got round to saving it from the firewood pile. The wood still feels damp to touch so I've stacked it with spacers and a heavy weight on top to try and stop any warping. Unfortunately I think it's a waiting game to get quality items.
  6. Thanks everyone I will try veg / olive oil, I've made sycamore and beech boards but I'm not selling any so it doesn't matter what they are so long as they look good
  7. Cheers Jon will do. Is that his user name on here?
  8. Hi Jon yes there destined for food chopping boards
  9. I've been having a go at making some chopping boards as I've had some spare time and need some, what do you recommend to coat them in to finish them. (After they've dried and been sanded)
  10. Finally sorted my 6 tickets out. This is a great idea to do and kills 2 birds with one stone giving to a good charity and the chance to win some shiny prizes!
  11. I think mrs migging would have something to say about backing it onto her drive haha
  12. He needs a couple of stihl 600 magnums
  13. I wondered where my fiver went can you post it back please...
  14. Popular! Horrid smelly brittle things
  15. It's not letting me click on the click here to perchance your tickets button? I'm thick help me lol
  16. I have a fairly mint 200t and treat it like its a bar of gold. I will probably cry the day it dies as I know I won't find another like it. A guy I subby for has not long had a 540. I think it's a great saw, powerful but it looks fragile so probably will be but the biggest problem for me is it ether has a small fuel tAnk or it can drink some as I have to fill it twice as much as the 200t. For me this is a big problem because the last thing you want to do is send the saw down for refuelling when you know the 200 and even the 201 will still be going strong!
  17. Also the zigzag has 2 attachment points that are used on double line but can't be used on single line so all the stress will be put on the links
  18. If it was me I would send it back, it just doesn't look good, it looks overly leggy in comparison to spread and looks a bit pot bound really. IMO the whole point in buying a larger tree is for it to instantly look good and it just doesn't. Plant a smaller tree and I guarantee it will establish quicker and take over
  19. Throw line here, nothing worse than a soaking wet rope first thing in the morning! Actually I'm wrong there is a soaking wet rope frozen solid! Also the customers dog is bound to pee or crap on the rope bag at the bottom!
  20. I don't know if to laugh or cry lol. You have to be really numb to do that I mean how did he think that would end?
  21. What species of wood shavings are you using?
  22. How could they not no they were in a nature reserve where logging is illegal, even if it wasn't I don't know how they have the heart to destroy such and important ecosystem. Shame on them
  23. If it was a life and death situation and had to choose one of the harnesses I would go for the tree motion...
  24. I've just got the hero 4 silver today from halfords for £269. I was going to get the 3+ but they were sold out and couldn't wait lol
  25. Battery stihl or husky, no noise so non the wiser!
