  3. I find they always build them right at the tops of conifers but no not just any conifer the one your bloody dismantling! When you have to cut and chuck it all and cut and chuck the top out they just way a ton and are full of mud which goes in your eyes and down your back and full of dead thorn which break off under the skin and swell up!! Rant over

  14. Not really there's nothing under it to damage no lowering and easy to reduce the limbs first as he had a cherry picker the only problem I can see is finding somewhere to burn the bits of wood full of metal and even that's not really a problem. He just seemed to take more time in videoing it than getting the job done!
  15. 4 days on a tree? Yer it was big but for 3 of the days he had a cherry picker? And 4 groundies!
  16. I climb in the local council owned woodland fairly regularly and never had any hassle, I just make sure the tree isn't over a footpath or road for deadwood falling onto anyone. There is always someone who is intrigued but nothing more. If it is a private tree it's always best to ask but in my experience most say no
  17. Thanks for the advice guys I will post a picture of the finished chair when I get round to finishing it
  18. Great piece of work I bet there's some cracking patterns in the wood
  19. Anyone who need to learn a few lowering techniques just search the thread 'this is amazing' some very experienced guys nicely pruning a tree
  20. I don't think it's set up because when he swings into the tree you see him try and grab to hold on and stop swinging
  21. Maybe they were experimenting faster ways of climbing...
  22. I just can't understand why anyone in the right mind would tie a lowering rope around themselves hopefully they learnt from there mistakes and maybe investing in a friction device will save them a few broken bones or worse. That said I must admit I had a cheeky smile on my face
  23. Haha that made me laugh so the difference in the 2 pairs of boots are the 'apprentice' boots aren't waterproof
