  1. The price isn't an issue here the lady agreed to the price... It's the poor practice and customer relation that turned it from a satisfied customer to a bad job
  2. They obviously thought they couldn't go to harsh and left them bits on lol
  3. Maybe it's to do with the wind pushing the air down rather than drawing? What chimney cap have you? Can't remember the correct name but you can get a H style cap on top to stop this happening
  4. Where in Manchester are you based?
  5. Beech will be great in the summer as a wind barrier but in winter when the wind is generally more severe they have no leaves on to create the barrier
  6. Yer that's similar to what I did but it cracked the brake disk?
  7. Should say tried forcing...
  8. Yep did that took five studs out can't see anything else holding it, tyres forcing it off and broke it but still not come off? I'm scared of breaking the hub to if I apply any more force
  9. Anyone have a clue how to separate brake disks from the hub? Cracked mine trying and still not off!
  10. Yer I know where you are I went to myerscough which isn't far from there, I'll keep you in mind if I get stuck, cheers spuddog
  11. I wasn't meaning proper off roading anyway just the odd grass verge etc because lets face it which two wheel drive tipper is any good off-road
  12. Yer I've been looking for ages now and the condition of the tippers are rubbish, I like a fairly tidy vehicle because let's face it we spend most our lives in them. The flatbeds are not only cheaper but seem to be cleaner and have lower miles, it's a no brainer. I like having a project especially when I can save money doing it. Yer cheers for the offer I'm based near Rochdale where are you?
  13. Tree frog bit off topic but how do you find it on grass and muddy ground?
  14. Yer cheers guys for the replies, that body looks great but like I say I'm building it myself. That's the easy bit, I'm more wanting to know how easy is it to convert from a flatbed to tipper eg best ram style? Reinforcement etc
  15. Has anyone converted a Nissan cabstar flatbed to a tipper or know of anyone that has? I'm having trouble finding a quality tipper with reasonable miles so looking into converting a flat because more are available to choose from. I'm pretty capable at doing the conversion but wondered if anyone has done it on here? Any tips and ideas and also things not to do?
  16. Not really you do get the odd flea on the dogs but I live on a farm so it happens. I don't find it a constant problem though but like I say I try my best to keep the dogs from them anyway
  17. I'm not overly keen on a unimog setup I think it will start getting a bit to costly for me. Don't get me wrong I like them just don't think it will be a practical setup for what I need to do
  18. Yer I see your point Stephen and I will be sure to look into the market before spending! There are a load of playing field, small holdings etc that look high maintenance around here. It's not that I don't like climbing because I love it but I'm just thinking of the future really.
  19. Yer hedgehogs are nice to see, we have a few plodding around the place, day and night. The trouble is I have a patterdale who loves finding rats to play with but teaching her the difference in rats and hedgehogs is hard, the adults curl up so there ok but the young don't seem to know danger and unfortunately a few get killed. I try saving what I can as I like them. I've figured if you prod the little ones and roll them About a bit they soon realise danger and can then escape the dog As for the weather it wouldn't surprise me if were in for a bad winter because we've not had much of a summer and were had a few fairly mild winters on the trot
  20. Yer I live on a farm and already have acess to my dads valmet 6000 but wanted a slightly smaller rig with grass tyres. I class myself a a capable climber who can do most jobs thrown my way but I don't want to be climbing forever, I do fancy mowing as a side line and thought about it for a while now and traveling doesn't bother me. Like I say I'm in two minds to get a van and chipper or tractor and chipper plus mower etc.
  21. So I've been a self employed climber for 5 years now and feeling I need to progress and adapt, I don't want to work for other companies for much longer and i don't really want a van and chipper, I want to get into larger machinery, I like the idea of a tractor setup and seen an 85hp kubota. I'm thinking maybe getting a pto chipper, gang mower etc. Just looking for advice and opinions on doing this sort of thing and also is there the work out there? (I'm Manchester way). Cheers in advance
  22. Found this little feller never seen one so nice!
  23. Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen I'd recommend waterproofs for this
