  1. Look like control relays for the above, guessing for a winch system or hydraulic motor. Should be able to remove with damaging anything. Is ther a switch inside the cab that does nothing?
  2. Depends on you build and how you like to ride, road bike or mountain bike. Will you need a trailer to carry all the gear in, not sure how your going to tow a chipper though I got and old trike my 4 yr old doesn't use anymore. Seriously depends on what you like and what is comfy. Halfords are expensive and I would go to a small bike shop and have a chat. They should be able to sort you a nice bike to meet your needs.
  3. That's why I've got some extra work here and there. Mowing gardens, looking after a stables once a week doing maintenance. Keeps the earnings topped up. In this day and age you have to get what work you can or it's off to the dole queue......
  4. The newer discovery threes have there tow bar stored with the spare wheel. Had someone ask me if they can buy the tow for it? After a bit of a chuckle to myself I opened the boot and showed them the bar. It looks pathetic and I would not want to pull anything with it as I wouldn't trust it, it bolts and pins and looks like the muppets nose.
  5. It would take longer but there would be oil in water or oil would be a mayo type consistency, or water would just disappear from the rad. Push for all other checks on rad system and fan first. Could save a fortune.
  6. Def check it out. Just seems its overheating too quickly to be the head gasket. IMO opinion if there is no water dissapering from rad or engine and no mayo type oil then my first call would be rad blocked. Would have said thermostat but you said that has been checked, did it get the boiling water treatment to ensure it is working properly.
  7. Nicely done, but what about a grease nipple or are you going to take it apart to grease?
  8. Well I can see two possibles. 1. Make extensions for the teeth that fold back so when you drive into brash they fold in towards the machine then whe you reverse out they lock forward. This would be a pain for tipping tho. 2. Move the end position of the ram back so it closes the teeth. This should help but without looking at the grab not sure how much it would effect the opening of the grab. The gap should stay the same measurement wise so it will open and close the same but it should close better.
  9. Stretching out the hands and arms after working is good for it. Keeping hydrated works aswell. Regular breaks from using tools is recommended, so if you don't need to keep hold of that top handle then don't. Lol
  10. Wow that stays open really far. Never seen any type of grab like that. You sure it's closing all the way? I would manufacture something to make the grab longer. Maybe a bolt on system that can be removed when not needed. But then o like to over engineer stuff and spend ages on a workshop until equipment is just right.
  11. Had this on a roller drive, drove me nuts. Ended up being the main jet was dirty. Easy way is to clean the whole carb out. Nice call on the float valve aswell.
  12. Your thinking of vibrating white finger, caused by using compactors or heavy drills, chainsaws can cause it but you have to work with one for a long time to get it and without gloves.
  13. Toyota hilux and ford ranger. Hilux is crew cab, ranger is single cab.
  14. I started on 50 a day. Worked for the same person for 4 years, I now get 80 per day. I am more than happy to stand behind a chipper throwing branches at it all day and dragging timber about for it. I rarely use a chainsaw and I don't climb trees. Never needed to. I also have other sideline jobs about to top up my earnings and it's always nice to have a few cash jobs or work about, all my wages touches the the bank and gets declared but the cash work doesn't as I see it as not worth it. Tax man gets his cut every year and sometimes I get a rebate.... Rarely. Work is work and there is nothing more I love than the feeling of going home at the end of the day tired and aching coz that way I know I have put in a good days work, if I don't ache or not tired I haven't worked hard enough and I get no satisfaction from it, been that way all my life since i started helping out at a farm at the age of 11.
  15. What's the maximum it can tip? Weight wise? Looks interesting and can it be removed easily as it went in if the truck it is fitted to is multi purpose?
  16. I've heard about doing this. Puts a blunt edge on them, mauls are not ment to be sharp as they are not ment to cut into the timber like a felling axe but there design is to push the timber apart. I have one of these axes and I found it good. Not as good as some of the bigger ones. Use it for the small rings. One hit and it's done. Can use one handed or two, it's just the right size for me to allow it.
  17. Don't think a hairline crack would effect the temp that much. You would get water diss appearing from rad. It would have to go somewhere so it would either be in the oil or burning in a cylinder. I really would go with fan unit fault or blockage in cooling system. Can you fill rad and it drains through engine? Remove the hoses and put a hosepipe (sorry a jug as your not allowed to use hosepipes now) in engine side of coolant system and make sure it comes out bottom. Do same to rad. Is the rad fins blocked up with dust and dirt. Is air actually going through rad fins? Could it be as simple as blowing rad out?
  18. Nothing as I can't hear a thing above the noise of the chipper so it's pointless and I gave up with the iPod. So I put up with the stupid songs that were stuck in my head.
  19. Yeah I'm going to have to work for weeks to get the choco fat off.

    ebay

Ther is no bigger ordiance than eBay for selling. Local trader or advertising locally is not going to get a third of people than eBay. Plus they don't mind paying the postage either. I've been to eBay loads of times for bits an I have only found one shop that was cheaper than eBay.
  21. You can put any amount on cscs cards so long is its not machinery. That is CPCS, I have to carry two cards cscs and CPCS. Was told I had to display both cards but only had one holder. That's if the site boss even bothers to check the card in the first place.
  22. Let me guess no name on van and if there was it would have a mobile number on it?
  23. A Landy is not a Landy if it a, has no mud on it, b, has no oil leak. This is why they made the disco 3. I hate it when people have I nice shinney land rover, proves they are not using it like its suppose to be used and it's going to waste. I always get pulled by people about not cleaning mine, I just say coz if I clean it bits will fall off.
  24. That is me when I have a go at a dead stump trying to dig it out. Lol. I liked this one as when he knocks on door he said build first. Thought it was a gardening firm not a building firm. That is when I got lost.
