  1. Ok. Let you off. Lol. Mate fitted a crap one in a series 2a and wounderd why it was skipping in songs. Lol. You don't really need a love from ignition just depends if you want the radio to turn off when the engine gets stopped. Or you would have to turn it off manually. Edit, should be live from ignition. Stupid iPad need to get rid of it.
  2. The missis defender has the just above the doors but back a bit in line with seats, closer to the ear so you can hear the music above the car. Arial is on left wing running into cab through bulkhead. Plenty of gromits to go through. Wiring is simple as you need a perminant live from battery, negative to battery and on from ignition, speaker cables go from speaker to radio, should be two of them each speaker nag and pos. or feed and return. And thats about it. No subwoofers or amplifiers to content with. Anyway how you going to listen to cd with all the jumping and skipping the disc will do when travelling?
  3. Any leccy one is enough they are all crap. The chains are so small he will be sharpening every cut anyways. What about a bow saw, or similar or is it an age thing? Just go b and q or other well known home store. And see I didn't laugh, not so you could see it anyway.
  4. They haven't given a date so tankers are still rolling, if a garage runs put they will still get supplied. Again seven days notice so guaranteed they will all order when and if the date gets announced, plus agri machines run on red so I'm not worried. Only down side is the car.. Nothing will probabaly come of it as it would cripple the country and they won't let it happen so they will decide to sort it out before that. Just hate the fact that everyone panics and fills up at exactly the same time. Had some crazy women try and push her way in front of the tipper at tesco today, would have ended badly as the tipper has solid metal bumpers.
  5. Have two working at mo. very good workers, got no issues at all and they stay the course of working hard. Plus it good on he eyes after a hard day.lol. Only after I've stopped sweating and puffing and panting trying to keep up, but they don't seem to. What's with that? Maybe I'm just unfit and need to stop the junk food. Oh and one is my girl so I'm allowed to say that.
  6. Busy but not run out yet? Looking forward to going in morning? Wasn't going to sit in the queue for ages in the sun. People are acting stupid and I blame the ministers comment on the radio today, prat. But I did think, is it really going t be strike or is it just going to turn into scaremongering by gov.
  7. Yeah I don't like them either, seem to always be taking a spanner to them, had to change the hill climb brakes a few weeks back, don't even go there on how to change them, the discs have to come off and they are behind them while added to them, the parking brake also comes on auto when you turn ignition off so that has to be disabled aswell. I would never buy one, thing is he is selling his defender and keeping the disco 3 and buying a td5. Think he is mad as I would keep the defender and sell the disco.
  8. Had a good one yesterday, mate has a dico 3 and couldn't select reverse, I knew the problem and fixed it in half hour. Anyone got one and has. Had the same problem? Bit of a search to see what other people have done to these and how much it had cost them, I struggled to know what to charge him as I was under it in the pit for an hour.
  9. Could be african honey bees, seen a few lately, bigger than the average bee and it will attack a nest kill the queen and any protectors that get in the way, then leave the nest for dead. It happens more than you would think but there's no danger to bees on the whole. But then it could also bee hornets, weather is gettin warm quick so it's attracting more rare species of insect to the country, also noticed hives are more active than usual. Had a few big hornets steeling into the boat when it was in dry dock for winter.
  10. Good to hear things are going good and you are sorting things out. Well done predator and keep it up.
  11. I like the show, think its funny when they get booed off stage and try and have a go at judges...
  12. Just took hard off my s11 low compression, there is nothing left of gasket between the cylinders. Also got a crack in block and head. What a nice day.
  13. Everyone should go self employed? Backing strikes? Something about this is reminding of maggie thatcher and the coal miners? I know I'm not old enough to be around when this happend but if I remember they striked and got nothing from it. Just lost there jobs anyway. If everyone went self employed there would be no tax paid anyway if everyone got a good accountant. This country only rewards the lazy and bone idle. I used to believe in if you want it you have to go work hard for it, not any more. If I want it I would probably go dole office and get it. If I wasnt a grafter and enjoy coming home feeling tired and my legs ached, I know I have put in a good day.
  14. Took the Landy head off today, no gasket left between cylinders burnt out. Also got a crack in head and block, same place on both. Joy what a good day.
  15. Its the law of owning machinery, it breaks. Metal wears out bearing blow wiring gets old and self destructs, maintain a machine and it will prolong its life, it's weather you spot a problem before it develops. If it starts missing beats or struggling to ork thats the time to stop and look into it, to ignore an issue with a machine will not end well. A job can wait a day or few hours a machine will not.
  16. Loads of them. They talking about it going up 5p in August I think. Soon people will give up work as they can not afford to get in. If fuel goes up then lorry firms prices go up so grocerys go up. In turn tax goes up. So lowering fuel duty will mean they get it other ways but does it matter if everything will go up anyway. Was thinking about doing quotes the other day? You use your fuel and money to go and do a quote, so does the job price go up as you have been there to quote and then go again to do job? So in fact you are going to the job twice? This all uses fuel so it's all extra cost. Was just thinking about while at the pump the other day. Amazing how much fuel gets used now. Not using anymore than was before just the big hole left in wallet.
  17. Must be grass season. 4 Hondas today. 2 roller drives, one was needed to be stripped for parts, said it didn't run, float was stuck runs sweet now. Cables stuck on other one, some thin oil soon sorted that out, runs sweet. And small domestic type were blade spins with engine, hunting revs, choke half stuck closed, soon sorted. Another roller leaking fuel, float stuck open this time. Petrol pouring from carb, soon sorted. Nice easy day, although I do not norm like doing mowers as its normally simple stuff and taking carbs off wind me up as its always diddly but nothing else on my bench. Except for the 2a with a blown head gasket gone between cylinders 3+4. Should be interesting stuff, looks like I will be swearing and butchering my hands over weekend.lol
  18. Yeah about right. Lead prices are the cause. All rounds have gone up. Paid 45 quid for 100 .223 a while back. Thank god I make my own. Just needed some more empty cases. I use elly. Was wondering if the club allows plastic wads, a lot now only allow fibre due to livestock.

    Chain oil

Using veg oil? Is that new or used stuff, and if used does it get filtered? Just wondering is there a big price diff between chain oil and veg oil?
  20. I can't see anything that has a better build quality than the gm. And the parts are easy to get hold of IMO they are not too expensive either. Maintenance is easy aswell, a few grease nipples every 40 hours and there are stickers so you can't miss them, the only one I have trouble with is the top feed roller metal guide plate sits close to one so the roller needs lifting to get to it. On a 220. Other than that it's all easy. Blades seem to last forever aswell.
  21. I don't think dodgy either, Cash on collection Probably completely different from the pic, probably falling apart
  22. Stick with greenmech. Always, there is another thread on this if you search it out.
  23. Welded mine on, the missis car is already welded on, think this is for anti tamper tho. Weld the bolts up. Only needs a tack weld so it doesn't undo with a spanner, just remember to tell a garage is you have any work on it done or your name will be mud.
  24. Just read the write up on it. So they do the work set for them and apart from the stumps it was a takedown. The other work was refused at first but they called them back. They argued about the work but they left with nothing else said? They dropped branches into a neighbours garden? Who hasn't done that? Ok so they look like cowboys and prob are. I live in the Dover area and I have never heard of them? Maybe I should get out more, but then I only hear about bad tradesmen when we have to clean up there mess. Just another company that has been caught on camera and shown to the public, another blow for good companies that do a good job, people will be carefull but will still get caught out.
