  1. No affiliation with arbtalk. Not going to happen as they are on hear somewhere and if they are not and read anything that is said they will join pay and the get it removed quick! Just had a really good read through the rules (guidelines) it says nowhere in plain English that bad experiences with a dealer cannot be posted? Or is it there but I missed it with the very complicated use of the English language to confuse simple people? Just asking not starting anything or looking for trouble.
  2. No one would be able to name any good dealers as that would be against forum rules!
  3. One problem I don't remember spud asking for his own area? Many give advise either on experience or on what they know! And it is advise, don't pay for it, just ask for it. Don't have to give advise, could just point them in the direction of a dealer but that wouldn't be helpfull and as I see it most of any forum is 90% advise for issues.
  4. And that just tells me that mechanics are incompatant as they don't trust there own work! Why I will never get a garage to do any of my mechanical works on anything I own. Rip off merchants the lot of them IMO
  5. Yeah but he has got a point about the dealers! I know they need to make a living and all that but I have yet to find one that I think is decent and worth the money you spend at them? I get my parts from a few advertising on here and always will as stihl have it that way, I just don't pay there labour charges for doing what I always find is an easy job. But then not all people have the mechanical knowledge that spud or garden kit has on here, if you notice spuds threads they are not about replacing with new parts but 99% upgrade or refurb. Dealers I know will just order new parts and fit them! A lot like most car garages etc it is easier for a dealership to just simply replace parts than to do some engineering and repair a part??????.?
  6. The next job inline for someone in your position is a machine operator, no need for physical graft if you good enough. I done all my machine tickets before I worked in tree surgery or had a chainsaw in my hand so I know I can always fall back on it. I work with machines when not doing arb work or any other work I do is available, sometims I have given days up for machine work when I could be doing arb. Having a second skill in another trade is vital not just in case you can't climb or work in current job, whatever carreer you are in!
  7. I must be really lucky then, I done a late one and got a 100 quid fine, sorted the return but didn't pay the fine, the next year got another 100 added on top of other fine for late return, had to pay 200 quid in late fines.......
  8. Looks like it. Should be able to re plate it and fill sand re paint area, should look like new
  9. Argue with that one. I get fined 100 for late tax returns. This will increase each year it is not paid by 100. So the letter I got says anyway. HM Revenue & Customs: Tax return deadlines and penalties
  10. Let's ee a pic. What truck was it?
  11. Had a thought what is the life expectensy of a climber, I don't mean death I mean climbing, how long Dow the average climber go for before there body says enough of the abuse?
  12. I've been too busy trying to find the female dorm with street view Do we know what went on with the job? How do we know the people who done the job did not advise of what would have been best for the trees? Did they advise and then get told that the job that has been done was what they wanted done and ignored the advise? The customer is always right and no matter how much advise you give some just want it there way! I don't know what they should look like so I really have not much say in it but just saying what i see.
  13. Take up a very positive self appointed supervisory role.
  14. Probably another eBay item, works ok for a few times before it self destructs! The joy of buying equipment you can't see.
  15. Cant see the vid broken link on iPad, if it was heli logging would they only cut some way into tree and snap it off when lifting? That's what ive seen on the telly anyway? Cool job though
  16. More than you uld think. Gases would not have a good clear run through system, get caught up and bounce around, would be sluggish at low revs. It would be a small amount but noticed if you drive the car everyday or drove it before new part fitted and after.
  17. Had a farmboss on the bench not running. The high low screws were unscrewed all the way, re adjust runs like a dream, compression down a bit on 130 but for the use it will get not a major concern. Had a solo top handle on as well, non runner, fuel lines all shot so replaced them, she runs but won't tick over well seems to hunt a bit, and dies when throttle up. Haven't adjusted screws yet as I don't know what the factory setting is for it? Anyone have an idea, make my life a bit easy instead of trying to get it for hours?
  18. Now I know. Weren't taking to anti drugs out there were you by any chance???
  19. If you go to London you will be caught on CCTV at least 300 times in one day, I think they don't need to chip anyone.
  20. Did that sorry, his wife's dad is a surveyer so he got them checked by one of his contacts. All ok to use. Need checking again soon as they need sweeping.
  21. I know the Germans are engineers but it's a long way off when stihls start mating and producing new saws.
  22. No fair it got edited, the bit about ultrasound cleaning been removed. Damn.
