  1. Just a tad I just need to fill the days an keep the bills paid.
  2. I'm in Dover Kent but can travel in Kent. Tree work is not essential as I can do a lot more.
  3. Looking to fill a week next week beginning mon 13th. For five days. Boss is going n holiday so I got a week to fill. Hard working willing to travel, within reason obviously. Got own ppe. Can work chippers although no chipper ticket. Good mechanic and can think on my feet. Thanks to all those that sent me messages but I've accidentally emptied my messages. 07521111599. Richard.
  4. Go by some ramps and get on it. They are only cheap to buy from a motor factors. If garages are a pain for you or her then don't go to one. I have never needed a full vehicle ramp for anything I have done, a set of wheel ramps and a crawl board has always done me fine.
  5. So if he had a silky and not a saw would he still be in trouble for doing it????
  6. I can see why your saying, they focused on how he done wrong by doing a job not trained for, so public attention drawn to that rather than him putting employee at risk.
  7. Haha I'm using it at the mo. Hard to describe. I got no pics. Looped end of rope through harness and up to a carabiner, small prussik through carabiner and around working end of rope, pulley under prussik and pulley attached to the looped end of rope, as you pull up the pulley is pulled up and advances the prussik. Like I said hard to explain.
  8. Just had a call from the boss and he has cut his finger off with his hydraulic log splitter earlier. But still working tomorrow, he has cut an inch off the end and is waiting to see of they can stitch it back on. Be sure I will be taking some pics tomorrow.
  9. They are the repeats from last month, used to watch this at 9 the axmen at 10. They only one I like was the chipping crews one. The rest were boring as hell.
  10. Sounds like faulty sensor or the camshaft has slipped or timing belt. Any funny noises, or wierd happenings? Disconnect battery for a while and reconnect see if it carries on.
  11. Agriculture is a complete different ball game. I don't get why either but I know a farmer doesn't need a chainsaw ticket for cutting back trees and hedgerows on there own land.
  12. Urm. Ok so I've up the lamb bands on there tails before and don't think I like that idea. Looks like it could hurt....... The bricks would be ok but would have the be engineered blues so they are square and accurate. Must admit the gazer sounds like it could be fun tho.
  13. Cover your own backside and don't do it. Go back to tpo with this information and see what they can dig up on it. If it does have a covenant it will be on there paperwork.
  14. You do know I jest of course. Just a pointer of the importance of accurately describing what you mean by not selling knives? eBay do not sell any hunting knive that is large or against any laws set by a country. So the big Rambo knives cannot be brought on eBay unless they are plastic.
  15. Do the now owners of the land and said tree have his covenant in writing???
  16. I hate to burst your very well created bubble mr skyhuck but I'm afraid they do sell knives. Kitchen knives Hunting knives Locking knives Stanley knives Stanley blades Carpet knives Chefs knives Fixed blade knives And a lot more, just took a ice simple search as knives and 21 odd thousand listing later. Addmitadly most results are to do with sharpening but they are there.
  17. Really? You can't get cpcs without cscs and they change your card. The colour on mine is yellow, fully qualified. It is not the time held but rather the qualification reached. Some usefull links. CPCS - ConstructionSkills CSCS Cards: Construction Skills Certification Scheme Cards But this is de railing the thread a little.
  18. I know people who have brought top handles on eBay. As I have had to try and fix them. Knives are available on eBay but it's ebays policy that they cannot be held responsible for the actions of the either the seller or buyer. Good disclaimer. Let's face it ticket or no ticket if you want one there are plenty out there to get. Firearms are not available on eBay but you can still buy related items. I.e scopes, stock blanks. But you cannot buy a complete firearm on eBay.
  19. I can help with some. Cscs is construction skills certificate scheme basically means you know the dangers of a building site and what to look for. Cpcs is construction plant certificate scheme, means you can use a machine, colour of card depends on what you can operate. Pts is a rail track ticket that means you can walk onto or work near a live railway line. So the signing and lighting is a lookout on railway lines. Citb is for a site supervisor and means you can play a supervisor role on site. Tickets are needed to protect everyone as its now a sue everyone in sight time, years ago you hurt yourself it was a man up and get on with it time.
  20. Doesnt that put you under grandfather rights? And shouldn't ou have retired by now.
  21. Been having these thoughts for years since doing my cpcs tickets. Blame the idiots that hurt themselves through there own stupid fault. Some idiot hurts themselves then goes through insurance so the ins companies want more done to prevent a payout. Spent two weeks getting my tickets and IMO it was a waste of time as most of the stuff thaught was about being safe not on actually how to use the machines to there full potential that I had to learn on site from others. And learn by doing actions. Many an hour spent after work "playing" with a machine to see what I could do. And being taught by the more senior drivers. Tickets are a good way for companies to cover there backsides incase some moron hurts themselves doing something they shouldnt.
  22. Have to look at a stihl 026 at some point. Using it today and it's hunting for tickover and doesn't feel like its peaking at full throttle. Haven't taken it apart yet exept clean the air filter. Any suggestions before I start other than the obvious. Fuel blockage etc.
  23. Went to the docs for a consultation today. Was told summer would be a better time, told him my job and he changed his mind. Xmass it is. Definatly no tree work for two weeks. Looks like I'm going to be driving the missis mad as I get really snappy if I haven't worked for a day. The doc was looking at a rough date of the 23rd December. Fine by me but means I will be recovering for her birthday........... Don't like needles so I will clench my teeth for the shot in the you know what's.
  24. What's wrong with the left foot????
