  1. Just a few changes please. Best 4x4= land rover Best tractor= green ones That's better.
  2. Spud. He will sort a meteor piston I'm sure of it. Get in touch with him and see if you can send him the saw.
  3. Report it to eBay. Trading standards want these saws taken off the market.
  4. Going to docs later. Going to see about it as me and the other have to have a consultation to see if it's what we both want.
  5. Believe me we don't. She has five from a previous and I've got my boy. We have baby sat for one of hers and we both agreed we CANNOT have another one. Plus my boy caused so much agro with being born and her body another would be very dangerous for her.
  6. Yeah a nurse or doctor fiddling down there doesn't bother me, it's when they are holding a sharp object that bothers me.
  7. I got told the dentist is worse aswell. Don't really know about the dentist part as I have never had major work done so can't compare.
  8. I always wondered how many garages had just replaced a gearbox with the reverse issue as its a 0.12p fix to sort. Did think about going round the scrappy and picking a few up sorting the problem and selling them on.
  9. Im thinking of getting the snip Who else has had it and what was it like after. I'm asking as I've read up on it and I was after a few first hand accounts? How long before you were back working? And did it actually hurt after? What was it really like getting it done? I'm no fan of pain, bit of a wuss when it comes to pain. Hate needles and don't like the thought of a doctor messing with my bits But I think the time has come that me and the missis is getting fed up with the usual pill taking and I hate condoms. Bloody annoying things they are So please what is the truth when it comes to the procedure. Reading online is fine as its all happy smilie faces, but I know it's not always like that in real life. Especially in our line of work. I will be trying to get it done over christmas so it's not to busy and I can take the time to heal after.
  10. It's not really the landy that's the problem. It's the added IMO un needed electronics they have bolted on and changed from the other discos. The auto parking brake for one, plus the parking brake being integrated into the rear discs was also a bad move. The gearbox is also and issue, I've known some to be knackerd but then all disco gearboxes have a habit of breaking. The disco 3 gearbox will break a circlip and it will be unable to get it into reverse, this is on the manual gearbox. The auto is also known to break not being able to select first or third. The other gearbox issue on the manual is second gear on early models was known to fail due to a messup with the process in making the gears, this as far as I'm aware has been sorted on newer models and gearboxes. The brakes also cause issues of there own, squeelling noises when they get dirty and needing to be taken apart cleaned and copper eased to stop the noise. These problems seem to effect some discos but not all. Is it worth the risk. I know what it's like to be without a vehicle for a few weeks as I'm sure do many, and what a pain in the rear it is.
  11. Crap crap crap. Don't bother spend money else where. They are a nightmare after three years. Do a search on google about them and problems people have had. Money pit is an understatement.
  12. All I can see is basically he climbed a tree without harness chainsaw ppe, or tying into the tree with a flip line or similar. How many times do arbs see this with other so called tree surgeons that soon get slated on here for not doing what they should. I have met so called trained operators that quite frankly have scared the crap out of me watching them use saws. And these have been trained. Ticket or no ticket it doesn't make you a good safe operator of a saw. IMO hse have done there job in this case, just a shame it came about from a nosy neighbour than an officer seeing the job take place. What would this thread be like if the bloke had died in the tree from chainsaw and not having a ticket??!!
  13. The oils are the same vsc. Trans oil is the same numbers as engine. Check out when you next go to a motor factors. Don't most tractors use the hydraulic oil as trans and hydraulics?
  14. Anyone know how it works with "in house tickets?" I remember getting trained for working on a platform on the tunnel but it was purely in house and I couldn't use it elsewhere. Just a though as I have always wondered.
  15. Got a good one today. While I was out fixing a strimmer for a friend today the missis decided she wasn't going to wait for me to come home and cut the grass. Decided she would strim with sandals on.... Anyone guess the rest. Now she has got a huge cut across her ankle that is going to scar. After I finished wetting myself I dressed it up for her with a Mickey mouse plaster. Apparently it is my fault for not doing it before I left.
  16. Yeah like I said I did think about doing it for her but I don't like her. We have lived here for about three years and I've only seen it get cut once. Well twice now.
  17. Haha sorry why didn't I put that in. Laurel.
  18. My neighbour was trying to cut the front hedge back with and electric hedge cutter one day. The hedge has been left for two years without being touched and is now all brown and the parts she was cutting are about and inch dia. must have been a long day for her. Poor young girl she is aswell. Did think about getting my cutter out for her but then I don't like her so sod it.
  19. Oh yes stay away from the cheap chinese makes. A long time ago, before I found this site, I used one, fitted nice, fired it up and ticked over nice ran ok, left it to put a tank through it, about 2mins in it stopped dead and seized up. The rings had snapped and badly scored the pot. Got hold of the seller and they asked if I had put the piston in the right way round! They sent a new pistons and rings out and also sent a pot, but I was reluctant to replace it again so it all went on the spares shelf. This was on a stihl ms280. Never touch the things again. But now I use meteor as I have found this site and spud is always praising them up. (but I reckon he works on commission from meteor:lol:)
  20. Never chip stuff didn't cut. You just don't know whats in it. Pick up a bit of metal and put it in the chipper you will spend more fixing chipper than the job is worth. It's just not worth the hassle.
  21. My thoughts exactly. Beat me to it.
  22. I'm down in Dover way. I was told by the doctor sitting for long periods can cause them as can straining. It's just something that happens, some are lucky and don't get them some do. Mine have all but gone now so I'm not worrying. Just annoying when after I just get into climbing I get these and it has now stopped me for a few weeks.
  23. The loppers I got where silver and green anvil type ones. Very good. Im impressed with what they can cut through
  24. Don't even start with that, I took one look at them and looked away. Decided to stick to cream. Hate why the doc has no gentle touch about him. But then I suppose I should have been gratefull I didn't feel both his hands on my shoulders.
