  1. I don't get why hey have to be fitted by them. It's in the manual to replace the bridge to undo them and put them back together again. I did when I put a steel core to act as a backup in case the bridge went. IMO they would be a really usefull thing to have.
  2. There's a marine supply shop down the road from me. I have got mallions from them before so will have a look at what they have. I know they have shackles in just not sure what ones. As they had a wall full of them.
  3. Now there's an idea. Could use wire to stop them from coming undone aswell. Extra safety. Good idea. Cheers Steve.
  4. What do you mean by "spike" ??
  5. That's a shame. I thought they would be perfect for the application I was looking at. Movable rings that could be place almost anywhere on a harness... Oh well back to the drawing board. Cheers fellas.
  6. I'm looking for the petzl ring. It's on the sequoia harness to join the bridge to it. They have tHe removable bit that allows you to feed the webbing into it. It's not for my harness but rather needed for general use. Like being able to move it onto different areas of the harnes for tools. Reason is a climber has been using the tree motion harness and the part he had the chainsaw on came apart so the saw fell... Not a good look. After looking at mine and realising that the rings could be used on the motion harness to attach to the webbing that is a lot stronger than anything else on it. Plus make wear lees apparent on the webbing when using carabiners. Anyone know where they are available to buy. Tried ebay and jones but can't see them.
  7. If its the carb issue and its leaking around the pipe on the new one a slap happy fix would be a small amount of glue. Not by the book but works none the less...
  8. If you really are stuck agg let me know...
  9. The cylinder should fit spud. The 026 and the ms260 are almost exactly the same saw. Only one is motorslagen or something or other to do with machine beating
  10. Ok. So put the new oil seals (tried to) into the 200t. Only just disintegrated as soon as I tried to push them in... Snapped up under the load. Put them in as per manual. So didn't end with a good note today, just one of those days of just go home. Not what I wanted as I really wanted to get this saw back to its owner..... Ho hum guess I will just have to eat some more cake and let the woes of the day melt away
  11. After repairing a few 200t saws I would have said motor schlagen would be more appropriate :lol:
  12. IMO tickets are just to get past the red tape. I have worked with people who have no tickets at all and they are the best operators I know. Not just arb but machinery aswell. I have also known the same people who have failed assessments because they have not fulfilled the criteria. But they are more than able to use machines. Its the same old that we have seen and heard for a long long time now. Just because you have all the tickets under the sun doesn't mean you are any good. I have worked with one chainsaw operator who had his tickets and he had no regard for the use of the chainsaw and was using it like an axe. Also drove it straight into a very very easy to spot 8ft metal fence snapping the chain... For some reason I never worked with him again....
  13. Any chance of getting a picture up mate. He might not be in a transit when seen by someone. Keep us updated.
  14. Good job I'm no climber or I would probably waffle on all night about top handles and rear handle :001_tt2: I only tweak with the top handles and then chuck them at some timber to ensure they are cutting like a powerfull saw should. And that's the experience I have with them. I would rather fell a tree and get great satisfaction from that.
  15. No one slew mentioned the back handle as the top handle is much more practical up a tree. Again it's all down tot he job. Forestry wouldn't use that 200 series as they are way too small. A climber would. As ground working I would have an ms260 as IMO it's a fantastic little saw for snedding up and felling the small stuff. And I would prefer a 088 to the 880 for big but wouldn't really come into it so the 048av as its a monster of a saw and with a smaller to medium bar would rip through most timber. Well it would after a few "tweaks"
  16. Oh well if cake is the currency will one of these do at all Four layers of coffee and walnut cake. Two layers of walnut sponge and two of coffee sponge. With icing and walnuts on top
  17. Nice one. Guess the bench is full of used nappies then Put the 200t back together tonight. Just got to give the carb a good clean and its finished. Need to get a tool for getting the seals back in easier.. Anyone willing to make me some with a lathe... Managed it ok but a tool will be much easier.
  18. A fella buncher...... No need for any other saw then. And if its in the back garden I could soon make a shortcut through the house. Just cut it and carry it back to the yard and deal with it later
  19. Just looked on there website. Italy. But it seems there dealer page is blank. Guess they have no dealers out there supplying pistons. They have a list of the pistons they make on there page. There are LOADS of them.
  20. Stiga are very good IMO. For bigger cuts ferris. Very bomb proof.
  21. Just had a read of the article and this thread as I missed it the first time. A couple of thoughts went through my head. At first it was more to do with why was a teenager putting his foot in a feed in the first place.... But then I relised that over the years common sense has all but left the human race all together. Then it was why was the machine in use. But even with a "safety" bar would it have made a difference. Correct me here but they would need the operator who was getting pulled into the machine to make good contact with it and the force applied to it by the front of the legs that don't bend (as in the knees only bend one way and when against the bar they will be trying to bend the wrong way) will push the bar, applying the stop or reverse of rollers. But for one foot to be in that chipper he would of either had one leg in it and the other out putting him at a 90degree angle to the rollers and bar so his other leg would twist around bend at the knee and going in. Or be standing ON the table with both feet before putting one foot forward into the feed. (But I guess this goes back to common sense again or lack of it) But what has got me the most is the PTSD claim... And continued pain from it. Ok so he lost some of his foot (poor guy) but this sounds more like a plea for claiming more money from ins.
  22. This can be true for the sequoia harness. Depends on how you hang the saw. I think Steve uses some other method for moving about with the saw. Think it was him. I did look at a swing before but wasn't sure about the seat part... Did look very practical to me.
  23. Doesn't matter what one you get. They are all obsolete as soon as you leave the shop with them. I've had a hp before and it was rubbish. It now sits in the corner, waiting for a chain tobe attached and used as a boat anchor.
  24. Been using the 026 for a while now with the meteor piston in it. And I'm impressed, its running perfectly and seems the compression has built up well after fitting. Although I havnt put a tester on it yet I can just feel it on the pull. Definatly be using them again. Spud do meteor do most pistons and if so what one do they do or not do?
  25. Hmmm. Not had one that wouldn't go to run but did have one that wouldn't go to full choke and stay there. It would move back on its own. The switch operates with the flat metal spring, but this spring is more for the short circuit in turning the saw off. The switch runs a bar through the handle part and out the other side. This then works the choke built into the filter. I would check this part is working ok. You can seperate the air filter and bolt the front half back on with the choke fitting in it. Then operate the choke lever to ensure its working ok. The switch could be worn and not holding the run position. Check the notches in the switch mechanism are all ok and not worn out. This wold cause it to skip past run and onto off.
