If you find you've been paying for PPI you didn't know about, it's worth investigating. But note that if you weren't actually misinformed about, or mis-sold, PPI you're unlikely to have a case, and there's little point in starting a claim without good grounds.

I use a pair of the earlier blue stihl trousers (the ones with the orange stripe down the leg) They are all round protection so quite heavy and to be honest not tight fitting. Started off with the Stihl button braces and got to the end of the adjustment on them so now use them with a belt as well. Mitox chainsaws providing they are used for their intended purpose are far and away better then any current offering from Ryobi, McCulloch and other recognised high street brands which is what they are competing with. No they are not "butch enough" for a pro user- even as a backup saw as that is not their intended use and market- hence the low initial purchase price compared to a pro designated saw. Same as any bit of machinery really. Why do you think Bosch produce drills in two different colours?

OK. The clutch drive mechanism is engaged via the lever on the gearbox that the cable attaches to. The drive pulleys on the crank and on the gearbox are always in constant rotation so that would be correct. Disconnect the cable from the gearbox and then see if the drive disengages- if it does, then it's possible the internal cable has seized either due to lack of use or fraying. If it's the cable then simply replace it. If the gearbox drive is still engaged once the cable has been removed then manually move the engagement lever on the gearbox. These can seize or even get twigs and debris caught in them which prevents the lever disengaging when the cable tension is released. If the cable is fine and the drive lever seems fine, then it's an internal problem with the gearbox. The gearbox is a sealed unit and therefore internal components are unavailable. Only replace as a unit, but on an HR194 which is a very old model the cost (if still available) would be extortionate.

Difficult to say on here. On one hand you've got people on here slating stuff because it's chinese cr*p- such as the chinese chainsaws. And then the same people say stihl saws are the best thing since sliced bread- which are fitted with Zama chinese carbs and increasingly a load of other chinese sourced/made components. Depends if there's an "R" in the month and which way the winds blowing.

The flexing of the chassis on the AV mounts causes the cable to tighten thus giving the impression the throttle has been deployed.

Practically very thick and therefore very hot and cumbersome- other than that just better chain speed protection (and the extra price of course)

To be honest what you are paid is a plasterers labourers rate- not a self-employed skilled plasterer rate, which depending on your skill level, specialism and area of the country should be at least £100 up to and in excess of £250 in some cases.
