  1. I didn't say he shouldn't increase his rate did I.
  2. .....beat me to it!!
  3. why report it. it's not a fake saw- there's nothing in the pictures parading it as anything other than a generic chinese saw. no brand names- nothing. Not even listed as such- although putting stihl oil in the title will pick up a stihl search in ebay.
  4. With respect your draft come across as quite spiteful and bitter and it's quite unprofessional giving specific part percentage point breakdowns. I don't think this is necessary, simply give a percentage increase and don't bother with a finite breakdown- you don't need to justify each point of your increase.
  5. No, but secretly- a nice piece of certification means they can charge more than someone who hasn't.
  6. You can certainly port the MS180, but can shorten the engine life tho. You can replace the single screw adjustment carb with one from the earlier 017/018 models as they are a direct fit with seperate H & L screws, so finer adjustment can be obtained.
  7. ...ohhhh sorry that was from me. I forgot to put the invoice in the packet. You owe me £30!
  8. School crossing patrols are not just for children. Patrol officers may help anyone who seeks their help in crossing the road. When you see a School Crossing Patrol Officer step into the road ahead of you displaying this sign you must stop to allow people to cross the road. (Rule 87 of the Highway Code). It is an offence under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 if you do not stop when signalled to do so by a school crossing patrol.
  9. right.......so they can stop traffic then.
  10. ....and i f you remeber from your driving test- a lollipop lady (or man) can as well.
  11. As a company we actively avoid supplying non end users as definitive checks cannot be made due to the reasons you state. In reality supplying a supplier such as a local authority is in effect shifting the responsibility and liability from your company to another. Re; the elderly lady scenario. Doesn't selling a boxed, non assembled and therefore non PDI'd saw without an operational handover contravene Stihls selling policy anyway?
  12. Section 03.22.3 of the chapter 8 street works act states operatives of manual stop/go traffic control signs must be in good visibility of the on coming traffic and in close proximity of their designated sign.
  13. Yes, that is correct.
  14. Strictly speaking it is not illegal to sell a top-handled climbing saw to anyone as there is no law that stipulates you shouldn't. However the industry and the HSE have a mutual understanding that no dealer should sell one of these saws to anyone without the relevant qualifications to use one for it's intended purpose ie "off the ground" or climbing use. Which would discount pro users who do not posess this qualification. I have been/am a main dealer for Stihl, Husqvarna and Efco and the dealer policies insist their dealer adhere to this agreement. We must obtain a copy of the correct entitlement certificate and if it is not the later photo card type it must be accompanied with photo and address verification simply to prevent someone borrowing someone elses non photocard qualification. THE photocopies are then attached to the original sales invoice for verification and inspection where necessary.
  15. Like I said earlier- you can't just get a piston and rings anyway. Rings- yes, but a piston no. Never found one for mine when I needed it Echo don't supply a piston- only piston/barrel kit and no pattern pistons avaialble that I could find.
  16. You won't get a seperate piston from Echo as they only sell a piston and barrel kit at around £150. You will also struggle to find a pattern piston as they are very scarce, so you could very well be looking at spending £150 even if you can get away with just fitting a piston and rings.
  17. No. Barrel and crankcase on 020's different to 200t's so not interchangeable.
  18. Depends on which carb is required for your MS200T, but one has an RRP of £82.44 plus vat and the other has an RRP of £78.28 plus vat.
  19. Repaied a MS250 last week with exactly that problem. Diagnosed sticking clutch drum needle bearing. Don't see many saws with that problem, probably only four or five in last ten years.
  20. Plugs can last anywhere between 5 minutes and 5 years+ There is no hard and fast rule, and like someone has already mentioned if it aint broke etc etc.
  21. The Echo offering at your end of the market is far superior than the other offerings. They are very well built, reliable and out perform the others. The light homeowner Stihl/Husky offering aren't "real" Stihl/Huskys and are built down to a price and thge Makita is a cheap "copy" saw branded an Makita. The only manufacturer in your list of options that offer a product range that is constant in terms of quality through their range is Echo. The Efco MT4100 would be a viable option if you need another choice- far better than an MS171/181 and Husky equivalent.
  22. ...Maybe he wants to cut 36" diameter.
  23. Sold for £200. If that was as described then someone good a very very good bargain. Worth shed loads more than that.
  24. Did you not read my answer then ??
