  1. ...ohhhh sorry that was from me. I forgot to put the invoice in the packet. You owe me £30!
  2. School crossing patrols are not just for children. Patrol officers may help anyone who seeks their help in crossing the road. When you see a School Crossing Patrol Officer step into the road ahead of you displaying this sign you must stop to allow people to cross the road. (Rule 87 of the Highway Code). It is an offence under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 if you do not stop when signalled to do so by a school crossing patrol.
  3. right.......so they can stop traffic then.
  4. ....and i f you remeber from your driving test- a lollipop lady (or man) can as well.
  5. As a company we actively avoid supplying non end users as definitive checks cannot be made due to the reasons you state. In reality supplying a supplier such as a local authority is in effect shifting the responsibility and liability from your company to another. Re; the elderly lady scenario. Doesn't selling a boxed, non assembled and therefore non PDI'd saw without an operational handover contravene Stihls selling policy anyway?
  6. Section 03.22.3 of the chapter 8 street works act states operatives of manual stop/go traffic control signs must be in good visibility of the on coming traffic and in close proximity of their designated sign.
  7. Yes, that is correct.
  8. Strictly speaking it is not illegal to sell a top-handled climbing saw to anyone as there is no law that stipulates you shouldn't. However the industry and the HSE have a mutual understanding that no dealer should sell one of these saws to anyone without the relevant qualifications to use one for it's intended purpose ie "off the ground" or climbing use. Which would discount pro users who do not posess this qualification. I have been/am a main dealer for Stihl, Husqvarna and Efco and the dealer policies insist their dealer adhere to this agreement. We must obtain a copy of the correct entitlement certificate and if it is not the later photo card type it must be accompanied with photo and address verification simply to prevent someone borrowing someone elses non photocard qualification. THE photocopies are then attached to the original sales invoice for verification and inspection where necessary.
  9. Like I said earlier- you can't just get a piston and rings anyway. Rings- yes, but a piston no. Never found one for mine when I needed it Echo don't supply a piston- only piston/barrel kit and no pattern pistons avaialble that I could find.
  10. You won't get a seperate piston from Echo as they only sell a piston and barrel kit at around £150. You will also struggle to find a pattern piston as they are very scarce, so you could very well be looking at spending £150 even if you can get away with just fitting a piston and rings.
  11. No. Barrel and crankcase on 020's different to 200t's so not interchangeable.
  12. Depends on which carb is required for your MS200T, but one has an RRP of £82.44 plus vat and the other has an RRP of £78.28 plus vat.
  13. Repaied a MS250 last week with exactly that problem. Diagnosed sticking clutch drum needle bearing. Don't see many saws with that problem, probably only four or five in last ten years.
  14. Plugs can last anywhere between 5 minutes and 5 years+ There is no hard and fast rule, and like someone has already mentioned if it aint broke etc etc.
  15. The Echo offering at your end of the market is far superior than the other offerings. They are very well built, reliable and out perform the others. The light homeowner Stihl/Husky offering aren't "real" Stihl/Huskys and are built down to a price and thge Makita is a cheap "copy" saw branded an Makita. The only manufacturer in your list of options that offer a product range that is constant in terms of quality through their range is Echo. The Efco MT4100 would be a viable option if you need another choice- far better than an MS171/181 and Husky equivalent.
  16. ...Maybe he wants to cut 36" diameter.
  17. Sold for £200. If that was as described then someone good a very very good bargain. Worth shed loads more than that.
  18. Did you not read my answer then ??
  19. Maximum recommended length is 18" irrelevant of whether you can get a longer bar to fit.

    Efco 162!!!

....and you forgot to mention the Efco is around half the price of the Stihl. Two saws for near enough the price of one Stihl- and two lots of warranty for the combined life span of one Stihl. Efco even admit their top handle is not as good as the Stihl, but are savvy enough to charge nowhere near the Stihls price and understand there is a market for newly qulified climbers who need to earn some money before they can upgrade to the Stihl, or experienced climbers who need a back-up saw.
  21. The WHOLE starter assembly ready to simply bolt straight on is only £25 plus vat, so well worth doing IMO. Will be even cheaper if you just want components for it. Part number is you want one is:50060110.

    Efco 162!!!

I have been an Efco dealer for nearly 20 years and have sold Efco products alongside Stihl and Husqvarna. I sell ten Efco products for every one Stihl and I have less problems with the Efco product. I keep Stihl because a lot of my customers or blinkered into believing they should entertain nothing else. What people need to realise that not one manufacturer in this industry produces a complete range of product to cover all uses which are the best in every category. Historically Stihl started producing professional grade products and over the years have produced de-specced, poorer quality machinery for the homeowner, domestic or farmer market, and from my experience the Efco product beats the Stihl offering in these categories hand down- simply because this is the area where Efco cut their teeth. Over the years Efco have produced a range of full professional equipment which is good, but no better than the equivalent Stihl/Husky offering with exception to price. I have fencing contractors and professional gardenders who need a saw as part of their work and traditionally have used the domestic/farmer Stihl/Husky offerings, but after purchasing and using the equivalent Efco product come back to me time and time again to tell me how much more powerful, reliable and forgiving they are. Parts availability I have found to be a better percentage pick than Stihl and I have found Efco to be more helpful. It's a pity that a lot of people will buy a turd if it has Stihl marked on it and won't consider anything less. However there are good and bad in all product ranges and I can assure you the domestic/farmer Efco offering are very, very good indeed.
  23. It is an Efco 140 as previously mentioned. New piston and barrel kit will be £143.25 plus vat. Even without knowing what model it was I wouldn't have thought it was even worth considering in the first place to be honest.
