  1. Don't know which post you wanted to delete- hence the reason I was asking.
  2. so which category did the post you said you would delete fall into? Just so as I don't make the same innocent error you understand.
  3. Where did you buy it as a matter of interest?
  4. In a nutshell what you are saying is that in one sales platform you are exclusively selling to the trade and therefore they are only willing to pay trade money and in the other you are selling to the retail public which would naturally realise more than what a trader would be willing to pay.
  5. That's not partiicularly clear. Makes it sound like you delete posts because of what you personally don't like or what might upset your friends rather than a hard and fast clear set of rules. But hey-ho.
  6. Is discussing ebay off limits then? Just for clarification, as you said you would have deleted said post?
  7. We are debating- certainly not arguing.
  8. But isn't that a statement of fact rather than being derogatary to arbtalk?
  9. I understand. However, no matter how much it might hurt, in pure practical terms, it's a bit difficult to legislate what other commercial organisations can or cannot be mentioned simply because they either don't support this forum or at times can take revenue from it. Plenty of times people ask on here what saw to recommend- plenty of advertisers on here sell mainstay names such as Stihl and Husqvarna, however if I were to mention a product from Efco for example surely you wouldn't object to that even if it's a brand that isn't supported by your other advertisers or are we to only mention brands that are supported by your paying sponsors/advertisers?
  10. Maybe you should contact ebay and ask them if they are interested in an advertising link then? Everyones happy then.
  11. Right- the replacement piston kit arrived for my 2010 MS181 yesterday and went to fit it yesterday afternoon. Everything was fitted and going well- however before I re-fitted the engine into the cradle I (always do) turned the engine over by hand to ensure it was free. After 3/4 of a revolution it locked up on the downward stroke. Had another try and same thing, so removed the barrel end cap and left the crank and piston in situ whilst turning engine over so I could see what was going on. It would appear on the down stroke the two crank balance weights come up and foul the underside of the new piston. I removed the lot as a whole and placed it beside the old original piston and it seems there is more meat on the inside of the replacement piston around where the gudgeon pin slides through compared to gthe original- thus causing this problem. I have emailed the seller, but in the meantime was wondering if anyone else has had an experience of this?
  12. As an indicator I am considering putting my nice, hardly used ms200 rear handle on as I could do with some cash. I have been watching all of the ones that have been listed over the past three weeks and none of those have gone for less than £200 and the majority have gone for somewhere between £230 and £270. The 200T is more desireable, but there are a lot more of them offered used, so the price they acheive reflects that.
  13. Wouldn't bother with a reserve and save a fortue in fees- stick it on at a 99p start and you will easily achieve at least the figures mentioned above day in day out.
  14. I think if you took the trouble to read the first paragraph instead of just trying to be funny, you will note I have listed several of the key considerations.
  15. It would appear the saw stalls when the chainbrake is deactivated (off) rather than activated.....or that's how I read his question anyway.
  16. All of this is a bit pointless unless the OP is more specific regarding their budget, the features they require and the type of use it is going to get etc etc. I can go on all day about suggesting lawnmowers, but if 90% of them are more than the OP is willing to pay etc then it's a waste of time. I have over 70 different mowers on display in my showroom that would take all day to go through. When a customer wants assistance, I need to ask relevant questions and/or the potential buyer to give me some indicators as to his requirements then I stand a fighting chance of not wasting his or my time.
  17. If I don't have what you need off the shelf, then I receive 3 deliveries a week Mon-Fri, so at least every other day in other words. Seems to be perfectly quick enough even for those who want something yesterday.
  18. ?????????????????
  19. If it has a silver FOIL sticker, then it is a fake MS440. STIHL warns about imitations | STIHL
  20. "I Believe all MS Stihl saws will have the black and white flippy caps and NOT the black screw in ones! I think the change happened around 2001 but some of the Stihl techs may know the exact date" The Stihl MS650/660 models still retain the screw in caps. The metal riveted ID plates were discontinued in the early 90's and were replaced with a similar shaped plate, but was of light grey plastic and was retained blindly by two plastic legs on the underside of the plate. This has continued almost unchanged (with exception to the size) up until present day. Never seen a UK designated MS440 with a steel/chromed ID plate to be honest.
  21. As the first person to ask that question and not receive an answer, I gave up trying to help.
  22. Tell me- do you take it out on the auctioneer if he is given something that is rare, maybe because it was in short supply to auction and it goes for some incredible amount of money to a winning bidder who is prepared to pay for the privilege of owning it? NO.
  23. I haven't set the price- my market has that's the difference.. The customers are offering me more than I was originally asking. Are you seriously suggesting I turn down nearly £180 more than I would normally get if people are happy to do so? I don't think so matey boy.
  24. Nothing like that example at all.
  25. Well you might find it hard to believe, but I can assure you- believe it or not- it's true.
