  1. Canoehead that is absolutely superb, and the fact that you have largely cut and milled the timber yourself makes it very, very special - good luck matew hope it all goes well. Br sure to keep us informed.
  2. Totally agree! A very dangerous place to visit - spent £500 odd quid there a few weeks back and will be returning very soon, for another large purchase. Thanks for the warm wlecome. Chris Coombs
  3. Mark MER, Autosmart and T-cut are good products, but a bit of TFR - Traffic Film Remover should do the trick. Its available from most car products outlets, it has a small amnount of acid or similiar to help shift the stubborn stuff. Cuts thru just about anything anf removes caked on brake dust etc
  4. Hi David Your inbox is full. Distance from Bromley to CR4 is about 8 miles, so easy to cover distance wise. I would be happy to view and price - let me know Thanks Chris Coombs -07812-344740-
  5. Good luck mate, hope it works out for you If so we will have to meet for a beer, maybe with a few other of the Kent crew
  6. Well done Baggy, they are truly beautiful. Thanks for sharing them. Fancied having a go for quite sometime, but: Do a course or just give it a go?
  7. As long as the customer is informed then its up to them what they do to their trees. Couldn't agree more - just as long as they pay the bill!
  8. All depends how its been treated/mis-treated!
  9. Did you get the pm Matt? Was it of any interest/use to you? Chris
  10. Nice job Littletree, you did two things right - you did what your customer asked and you gave the tree a chance. Think Rupe was a bit harsh with his comments. Chris
  11. Without doubt selective pruning, thin, reduce and shape. Then TPO No way in a million should this be removed, it is a landmark and adds so much to the local enviroment. As does the Watford tree
  12. Nick the above comment was not aimmed at you. I fully support what you have done, just protecting you and yours -been there myself. Good luck to you mate. Chris
  13. I have driven and owned lots of LR's, Toyota's and other 4x4, I'd personally opt for a Toyota 78/79 series Cruiser for work and an 80 or 100 series for leisure and overlanding, but I couldn't agree more with the above. Without doubt a Disco can do all the above and more Quote AL Baker: "Ok for arb work if you don't need to go off road" Al, are you kidding? A Disco has to be one of the most capable 4x4's around on or off-road.
  14. Richard the place sounds great but the pertinent question is above! "How much income have you been producing from the place yourself?" Is there more to come? Are there other revenue streams to take into consideration? Sale price ? Letting income? etc
  15. Absolutely superb, keep the pics coming.
  16. Very possibly, but not right now.
  17. Dinner the night before as the kids were at Grandparents Card and a dozen red roses on the day
  18. What a fantastic idea, and even more special that yoiu actually did it. Truly impressive tree to cllimb too. Hope your friend has some great memories to take with him, and th eidea for the book is superb. Well done.
  19. Hi Nathan welcome on board. Where abouts in the 'Smoke' are you?
  20. Another vote for Stretch Airs here. Other options might be some legggings/chaps - you can get leather ones but imagine they are very heavy and unwieldy.
  21. Unless you have got Professional Indemnity Insurance and you are covered for Subsidence reports, and suitably qualified to write one, do NOT get involved. Just my opinion.
  22. I agree with some but not all thats been said above: Price wise £6.25 per quarterly issue is ludicrous IMO. If you look at say one of the Land Rover mags, they are around £4-4.75 mark, reasonable mix and variety of content, and reasonable quantity. I think the sub £5 mark is about the max the market will take for a good quality mag. More reviews of: ropes, climbing kit, rigging kit, saws, general equip, axes, chippers, stump grinders, vans, 4x4's, Mogs, Arb trucks, Arb truck builders, log splitters, processors, specialist kit or bits that people have come up with or invented to make a particular job easier, companies big and small, outfits doing particularly big or technical jobs, working abroad, etc, etc, the list could go on and on. So IMO perhaps a good mix of articles, but more quantity, especially as its a quarterly issue. Which retailers is it available from currently?
