  3. Spotted this at a recent job - its huge, must be 6ft high
  4. Don't waste any more time, call the Police or better still go to the police station Explain very carefully what has happened and in detail about the forged contract. You should do this to ensure, you have covered yourself, and to sort out the situation. Just my opinion.
  5. Hi Mick I usually go to Elite Action Games' Tunnels over Epsom way on a wednesday evening. They also have 2 woodland sites 220 odd acres over near Dorking and a newer 100+ acre site near Frant, Tunbridge Wells way. Dorking opens every other week on a Sunday and T.Wells spring and Summer, although there waas talk of it opening more regualarly. Unfortunately two great local sites closed last year Oct/Nov time - Bexley labs and Northfleet ind site. Haven't been since early Dec, so really missing the crack. Fingers are getting twitchy! I'm sure we could arrange a wednesday evening or a saturday over the tunnels at Epsom sometime. Chris
  6. Hi Guys thanks for replies - pictures were taken near Alentejo.
  7. Not true Peter, I know of at least two sites, 1 in Kent one in Surrey that the Police will not enter to recover stolen vehicles. Absolutely disgusts me! A few years back now I used to do Gypsy camp evictions, go up and serve papers, normally alone and then when time up carry out the evictions. Backed up by tow vehicles, extra bailiffs, and hordes of Police - it used to amaze me how many coppers wouldn't enter the sites. Apart from a bit of banter never had any trouble.
  8. A crimes a crime!Serves him right.
  9. thought this might be of interest to someone on here Mercedes Unimog U1300L | eBay
  10. Tree Bridge - Portugal
  11. Done quite a few things over the years - but the tings that really cost me hard cash: Rugby - travel, kit, beer, more beer, etc, etc Car - too many too £'sssssss VW Campers - Split Screens !! Land Rovers - had a few but made some money on a few too - Land Rover Wolf Pulse Army Ambulance trials vehicle -planned camper conversion. Overlanding - Land ROvers and Toyota's Airsofting - the costs just keep mounting. Systema PTW second hand cost over a grand!
  12. Mark meant to ask whereabouts in the SW of France are you? I come down to the Bieres En Armagnac in the Gers a couple of times a year,as my parents have a place there - beautiful area, thought about moving down that way a few times.
  13. Lovely job there Mark, but you were a bit careless with those small hedges!
  14. IMO its highly unlikely you will get procesuted for removing a Laurel hedge, however, you have possibly contravened the law. So contact the local council, planning or tree officer/whoevers dealing with it, eat a bit of humble pie, appologise and see what they say. Points to note: You only need to notify the LPA, you do NOT need permission , for tree works within the CA. Trees being defined by those of 75mm diameter at 1.5metres baove the ground. The definition of tree is the spurious point. My opinion would be that Laurel is not a tree, however, there are so many laws and technical points that somewhere, someone, sometime might have proven something to the contrary in case law. CA act however, is the protection of the environmental as a whole, trees, buildings, walls, street ware, etc, etc. So any structure or item of significant environmental value - whether your hedge layed within that is questonable.
  15. Definitely tough it out, no matter what you end up doing in life, whether it be in the Arb world or elsewhere, you will have a qualification, that vital piece of paper that 'proves' you can apply yourself and stick to a chosen path. Also don't waste all the time and effort you've put in now. Hope it all works out.
  16. Just spotted this = piece of kit in question was a Brogio flail head very effective piece of kit in clearing overgrown ditches, woodlamd, brambles, etc, etc But bloody lethal!! - as proved to be the case! In use this thing sent stones and chunks of glass flying in all directions, absolutly shredding cans into deadly flying shards. Best off the market in my opinion.
  17. Sorry for your loss Pete, sounds like one of the last of that breed. Memories of the good times, which you obviously have in abundance from your beautifully written tribute, will sustain you through the tough times. All the best.
  18. Thanks for that fella's
  19. spotted this on a tree in some local woods while out for walk Any idea what it is? Ta
  20. I would inform the neighbour yourself, by knocking on door and having a face to face - once they return. That way you are covering youself over any potential trespass, just explain the neighbours claims about the roots etc. You should get their thanks and maybe a customer when they want some work done themselves. Happy days!
  21. Used a couple of contractors forged steel spades that did good service until they were nicked! Mate of mine sweared by Sneeboer tools, but very expensive!
  22. Sitting here with tears rolling down my face - My heart goes out to you Stephen, been there myself. For what its worth I think you did the right thing, keep all the good memories alive. Chris
  23. Sentri Van Vault - great bit of kit, purchased one off ebay just before xmas, £108. Almost immaculate, just a bit of sealant smeared on lid.
  24. MAM of standard 110 is 3050, there is a heavy duty chassis that is rated to 3500 Check with any Land ROver ind like Foleys SV or like.
  25. So did you get the job done yet? If so how much and how long did it take? Tidy job? Well done? Did they tidy up well? Or leave a mess? Any pictures? If its still up and not been done, why?
