1. Received mine the other day. Seems well made. Got Tim to put a bulk head on it and a swivel hitch too.
2. I bought a few crates of logged and split kiln dried Ash and Beech recently to sell on. Worked out around £65 per cubic metre. Doesn't sound too bad going off some of the roundwood prices being quoted in here
3. All my logs for this winter were cut at just under 10" long months ago so no option to go any shorter now unless they want them unseasoned.
4. I sell a bit and not had any complaints, dries quickly Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
5. Very good. I've got a sheet of mesh reinforcement lying around so now I have a job for it
6. I've just ordered one of the mini timber trailers from them
7. Is there no woodland on the farm? If there is you could fell your own trees to get you started and give you a feel for what the market is like near you. Minimal overheads required as presumably you already have tractors, trailers, quad etc. on the farm to help extract the wood. Fuel for machinery and your own time is all you need. Hard work though but you're doing the farm a service at the same time as there's always windblown tree's, dead or dying trees and areas of woodland that could do with a bit of thinning and tidying up.
8. I can't move or tip 1m3 vented bags off the trailer by myself, have to part empty first
9. I noticed just the other day when I went to a customers house who I stack for, that the stacked pile was a bit larger than it was last time. I might not shake the bags so much when filling them from now on
10. Like to see some Oak going through one Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
11. I think I've seen that van around Kendal, green transit van and the name Ash tree surgeons definitely rings a bell. It's an older style transit if it's the one I'm thinking of
12. Mine when it had a 20" bar on Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
13. Trouble with bag holders is they don't fill properly because you can't shake them. So when you move the bags the logs settle and your bags not full anymore
14. I saw you too outside the Indian. Nice grinder PMH
15. The Sycamore will be good in a few months, not years. It dries really fast. Just make sure it has plenty of airflow because it's a bugger for mould. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
16. Was playing football when your auction ended or I'd of put a bid in. Went for a lot less than I thought it would Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
17. Sycamore is the only one that I don't mind leaving in lengths for a while and will season like that. It still manages to get a bit of green mould inside sometimes though even left in lengths Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
18. Most firewood suppliers will be quoting a loose load. Can't imagine anyone would stack logs in to a bag, I know I wouldn't (unless the price was significantly more than £50). If you want to buy stacked quantities you're probably best buying in these crates Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
19. Got it on my phone and iPad. Looks really neat and slick and its faster too. Makes the old OS look really dated.
20. This looks a handy size trailer, anyone got one? Cheap enough too MINI TIMBER TRAILER - tcfengineeringnew
21. Had mine on a 20" to start with but gone to an 18" recently and I prefer it.
22. It's the antique place at Low Newton
23. That is exactly the kind of set up I'm looking for Marko. I already have 10 metre long extension hoses with quick release couplings so the splitter can be used away from the tractor. How much did that cost you? PM if you'd prefer. Thanks Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
24.
Thanks they look like the kind of thing I prefer. I just stocked up a week ago but I'll be wanting some more in a few months when I've got rid of these

25. Thanks, photos would help. I'll be honest Rods post went a bit over my head
