  1. Only downside to IBCs is emptying them. But I use them too. How do you cut 1 IBC bottle in to 6 lids by the way? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. Thanks. I see, its a bit different if you're letting someone else loose on it. I looked at the Riko vertical splitters before I got mine so maybe an option for you. There are a few people on here with them Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. Find someone that'll make one for you, don't have to have any of this two handed auto return business then. That way you get exactly what you want
  4. Did you fell the 2 very large trees that were on the roadside to left of that tree too? A few months ago now
  5. Fire lit every night still. It's more like March/April at the moment with these showers and high winds
  6. Looks really nice
  7. When I used to use an axe I used an old tyre on top of a splitting block, pack it with logs and swing away. Dead fast and keeps it all together, no putting the log back on the block in between swings.
  8. I just like to do all the work up front then when someone places an order I pick a bag up, put it in the trailer & go, minimal work at that stage. I can see the advantages from a storage & drying point of view (plus the machinery looks interesting) but looks like there's a lot of expense involved to get to the stage where you can do it as quick & efficiently as the various videos you see on YouTube. Don't get me wrong though, if I had a whole Posch billeting set up given to me for free and a heap of straight wood I'd definitely give it a go lol Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. I always think billets seem like a good example of over complicating things... Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. Yes I can get up to the trees above to use as anchoring. Thanks for that
  11. Yep, if it was a flatish field I'd push it over with the tractor then get a wire rope round it but bothered its going to end up going down the hill through the wall and take the tractor with it ha ha.
  12. Any advice! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. I have a large oak, similar to yours but it's fallen off a rock face and taken the whole root plate with it. And it's now at the top of a steep hill just to make things even more dangerous Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Now I've been using vented bulk bags I think it'd be good if someone offered them with the loops that go the full length of the sides of the bags like on the Travis Perkins builders bags. No getting off the tractor to hook the loops over the pallet forks that way! Bit more stable too. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. Just me that thinks that's very expensive...? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Borrowed a Stihl pole saw a couple of weeks ago with the new style caps. Not a fan at all, ended up spilling half a tank of fuel down me. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. Wet & grey here. As usual. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. I don't really bother with anything under about 3"-4". Doesn't seem efficient & people seem to want there loads to consist of nothing but the perfect nicely split log. But if I thought I could sell them in net bags I'd have one of those branch loggers in an instant. Makes it look quick & easy. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. I spy some kind of bag holding frame at the end of your conveyor! Any more photos? Given me an idea what to make now Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. 372xp then end up keeping it when you realise just how good it is! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. Bit of an old thread but do people find using the road pins works quite well? Only got one tractor which runs the log splitter and also the loader with pallet forks so can't fill direct in to bags at the moment, doesn't seem efficient. Even if I could only fill them 80% using road pins then had to top up once I pick up and bounce the bag on the pallet forks it's going to be a lot better than what I'm doing at the moment...
  22. I'd be going to the USA with the free ticket Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. I cleared a load of brambles with a Stihl petrol hedge trimmer. Only problem is I bent some of the teeth a bit on the bigger brambles but other than that worked well Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  24. I've started using them recently and get them from MCA Kingstone. Use a mixture of 0.5 cube & 1 cube bags Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
