i had new brakes in my 475 after the old ones broke up inside had trouble afterwards with slow hydraulics, no tipping, bad steering found out there was a small gauze filter in the bottom of the axle blocked causing the troubles, drained the oil twice cleaned the filter and happy happy:thumbup:

it should be a good venture, i know down here you gotta wait for somebody who has a good mill and operator but only send it out with a skilled operator then your covered on both sides -
i didnt know about the boiling water thats a great tip, i bought a saw that hasnt been used for years and it wasnt oiling all gunged up took ages to get it clear :thumbup:

VERY TRUE!! there have been some very good posts this week earlier in the week there was one about the wellingtonia vs giant redwood and then yesterday the post about new tractor wanted they both went on and on and came up with some very good answers from members. keep it up i say !!!!!

:thumbup: they are good honest tractors just like the earlier leylands i had a nuffield/leyland 384 done me good for years and both makes are far cheaper than mf /ford of the same age

there was a farmer down our way having it for his cow tracks from field to farm have anybody tried farmers in your catchment areas to see if there are any takers

totally agree i have a ih 434 1969 and 475 1976 and neighbour has got a case 485 4wd all three are cheap to run and arent expensive to buy but are good tractors simple to keep running:thumbup:

good on you mate:thumbup: for increasing your collection there are some iconic saws out there, some are awesome and have to be used to be appreciated. all members on here will give you some of the best models ever produced from the likes of stihl, husky, sachs dolmar, echo, mcculloch jonsereds all the makers have at least one or two classic models cant wait to see what gets posted :thumbup1:

hello all tonight was the first time i read this thread and i didnt give it a thought that wood turning was so popular i have several bits of holly, thorn, leylandi ,birch, hazel and rowan all about 2" to 4" diameter and lovely and straight and two peices of ivy that i cut today that are approx 3" diameter i will have to save anything thats going to be useful to somebody if somebody could say what woods should be saved and sizes would be much appreciated:thumbup: thanks

what a great idea:thumbup: that format you have laid out looks clean and uncluttered basic straight forward easy to read and find the answer as rob d said some books have too much information gets confusing another idea which will make it more expensive but well worth it have the pages laminated or some sort of photo album sleeve type of idea as we all know when your out working handling green wet trees ones hands arent usualy fit for turning the pages on a nice adult tree book:thumbup1::thumbup1:
