  10. Hi Jon, Its a very sad story that she was harassed so much by the very charities she collected a significant amount of money for over many years. I hope her work is recognised with a commemorative plaque, RIP Olive. N

    Rats!

If you heat baby oil, it makes vast amounts of dense white smoke, we used to use it in smoke generators to simulate a fire for training onboard our submarine, very effective & pretty harmless if inhaled then clears easily afterwards. N
  12. Happy Birthday Jon, Have a great day & Cut some big butts with your 660 before the cizzer starts to flow! N
  13. Hi, Cant say that would be top of my list, but you might like to visit the Epernay, Ardennes or Voges regions. 30 years ago, we used to drive all over France in our Peugeot 205, Dordoigne, Lott, Ardech although we very much like the west coast, Brittany down. Bon courage N
  14. Hi, To clear things up, you are still required to carry a breathalyser in your car if you drive in France, however there is no longer an 11 Euro fine for not carrying one. The breathalysers are readily available for about 1.50 euros from Hyper U or Leclerc pharmacy. We have never been asked if we carry them although only been stopped once in several years living here & not read anything about it in papers. Im fairly sure this is how it stands, however I will ask our neighbours son in law next time I see him if this is correct as he is a Gendarme. However they do like hiding out of sight with radar guns & a couple of officers further down the road to collect a 90 euro fine if going too fast. Speed limits are: 50 Km/hr inside a town/village boundary sign, 70 or 90 Km/hr main roads, 110 or 130 Km/hr dual carriageway / peage. N

  16. Hi, If you want to go to SW France, ie Brittany or further south to the Vendee, then you might like to consider Portsmouth to St Malo or Plymouth to Roscoff for Brittany. St Malo is a good start because the boat goes down the Cherbourg peninsula & cuts out about 2 hours of towing of driving. Brittany, is particularly scenic similar to Cornwall & we live in the southern Vendee, the coast pretty well all the way down has lots of camp sites. However as Ty said the municipal ones are very good. The Loire valley is also rather nice & the principle area for Muscadet, Sancerre & Pouilly Fume to name a few N
  17. Hi, Agree entirely on single bolt to secure the bar, I'm not sure how that came to be so widespread but its so wrong. I have fairly demanding use of my saws & much prefer the pro saws over the 'home owner' offerings, well worth spending more & getting something that will last. N

    PDF to word

Hi https://www.pdftoword.com/ quite a few online services such as this. but cant you just select all, copy & paste into Word? N
  19. Hi Jon, I cant see why they shouldnt provide a few free pitches. Unfortunately the organisers interest (AA?) is probably just financial & wont see the charitable side of it & arborists are just a part of the wide diversity of participants. Good luck trying though N

    Chain oil

Agreed, 441 better on 20" me thinks? & yes, 441 is a fairly powerful saw, agree with comments about training N

    Chain oil

Hi, There will be an oil feed adjustment screw underneath, turn this clockwise to increase oil flow. 30" bar requires fairly high oil flow. If that dosnt work, remove the bar & check the oil feed hole on the casing is clear & the oil feed hole in the bar is clear. If that dosnt work, maybe a problem with the oiler but check the above first & post back. link to instructions http://www.stihlusa.com/WebContent/CMSFileLibrary/instructionmanuals/MS441_Manual.pdf N

    Stihl 038AV Advice

Hi Spud, Thats some very good advice there, should be on a stickie for 'buying a second hand saw' ? N
  23. Hi The oil pump is most likely factory set, may be best to take to your dealer & show them whats wrong N
