  1. Hi I agree with Saw Trolls comment & could be a copy of one, so who knows? Cant see the point of a what is effectively a model that cant be started, spend your money on something that works, Seller has rather scant trading history as well N
  2. Hi, I can imagine that robotic mowers have a tendency to disappear if left overnight, unless you have high walls & security guards! N
  3. Hi Custom chain loops sure Jonsie probably does them as well N

    Cheap stand in Saw

Hi, TBH I wouldnt bother with cheap saws like that, so why not get a Dolmar 420 or 350 ? That way you have a decent small saw for when you get a 60cc or bigger later on. N

    Home brew!

Hi, Nice setup, would probably make wine but its so cheap to buy here around the same price you make it for if you but from a Cave in bulk! N

    Home brew!

Hi Yes, its fairly strong & legal to produce small quantities of Eau de Vie in France 10 litres per person via your local 'alambique' - mobile distillery that tours the area
  7. Hi Jon, It depends on your broadband speed, 2.75Gb is a very large file to download over standard ADSL You can check your speed at Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test but you may find rural areas get slower connections as they are further from the exchanges. N
  8. Hi Your milling & furniture you make look great, beautiful traditional appearance & real skilled craftsmanship, well done. N
  9. Hi I know some home owner saws have different mounts (dont ask me why) making 18" bars slightly shorter by a few links - Stihls 68/74 DLs for an 18" on a 250 or 260 which take different bars for example It may be for a Dolmar as Oregon make slightly shorter bar for them but as to why both state 18" must be in the mounting As to why they cant standardise these things is beyond me, 18" is 18" to me! Well Pump

Hi, Its not a theory about eels, it works, I have first hand experience of success. Although if the well involves drilling then its most likely a water table well so wont work. It will only work if the well is fed from a source as opposed to being dependant on the water table, over the years the passage will silt up & an eel will clear it in its desire to reach the source of the spring. There are companies in France (+ UK maybe) that clear the silt that builds up at the bottom as well which also helps provide more water. Yes, really good idea to harvest rainwater once the expense can be factored in over the years, our underground storage is an old fosse septique which has had clear water running through it for several years & holds about 3500 litres with similar pump, its fine for pumping to our 'toilet tank' which we used to flush a downstairs loo & plant watering. Well Pump

Hi If your well is fed from a source, have you tried putting eels down it? They will always try & find a source & in doing so open up the passage for more water to flow. IBC containers are not the prettiest of things, but hidden one with pas breese & the others around the back. N
  13. Agreed, what next - nail guns, garden forks & hedge trimmers ? N
  14. Hi Thats really good of him to give you that, look after it is that a set of Zeus tables top right? I know they are a similar yellow! N

    Well Pump

Hi Unfortunately you cant just pump continuously! Ours is fine so long as we dont pump more than 2-300 litres in one go in July/August otherwise its about 2 metres deep & provides all we need. N

    Well Pump

Hi all, Not really Arb related but have just successfully repaired our well pump as I found the 65uF start capacitor was leaking & got a new one from E-bay - arrived yesterday. Fitted & tested - pump ran fine (as opposed to single phase buzzing) Pleased as its quite expensive pump & well water vital once our 8,000 litres in tanks runs out as sometimes we don't get rain for 8 weeks in summer when its scorchio:biggrin: N
  18. Hi Nice video, like the music & we all learn by mistakes. thanks for posting N
  19. Hi & Welcome Never heard of Active but buy cheap, buy twice For around £330 you could have had a Dolmar 420 or a 350 for a bit less If you live in France search Amazon.de & you will find them priced in Euros & free delivery to mainland EU - a lot cheaper than France. N
  20. Hi +1 for a 365xt really good saw, cuts well on 20" & not too heavy for 70cc. N
  21. Pete, It will actually be a vector force, acting through the centre of gravity (not necessarily the centre of the tree) This force changes as it pivots on the hinge as the tree falls. N
  22. Hi The second (RH) one exerts a greater load in terms for force * distance because it is further away from the fulcrum - hinge. The hinge of the cut being the fulcrum, the tree being the lever & the height of the hitch being the distance https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mechanical_advantage explains further Thats how I understand it anyway. N
  23. Hi, All I can add is check the exhaust nuts are tight as my FS85 ran a bit similar to how you describe with a loose exhaust. The previous posts cover everything I would check. N
  24. Hi At that point you should lead them to where you keep your stock of belts & say 'which one of these is yours?' whilst holding some divining rods. N
