  1. You godda get the bottom layer off the ground . A pallet will do . See where the bottom logs are black looking . its where they are " wicking " up the moisture .
  2. Because I already have a large quantity of Red Line Racing T2 oil and don't want to waste it . Also Aspen4 is marginally cheaper than Aspen2 .
  3. Tillotson Carbs were first made in Toledo Ohio . They are now also made in Ireland , China and Brazil Walbro started out in Michigan and now make their carbs assorted other country . Zama are Japanese . Made in China, Hong Kong and USA .
  4. You risson coocky boy ! Same fing going on orra time
  5. Friend of mine had a fishing boat ( private not commercial ) and he had a dummy tank and filler neck that held about 3ltrs of white . Round the other side out of easy view there was the proper filler connected to the real tank which contained you know what . Don't know if he ever got dipped but that was his trick .
  6. Just bought some Aspen 4 and mixed it at 50:1 with Red Line Racing 2T oil . Put it in my 560 and it ran a treat . I guess the A/T took care of any adjustments , if at all they were needed . As I am semi retired now all my machines will now be run on Aspen .
  7. All part of life's rich tapestry bud . Don't worrie you are the good guy .
  8. Its an arse ach verses cost thing . If the pot and piston are still good maybe crank and seals if you can do it your self . How much is your time worth how much are the parts against the cost of a new saw ( which will last a few years ) minus what ever you get for the knackered one . Its a poser !
  9. OK . What color was the plug you took out ? If it was a sorta tan color then its fine . If it was black and sooty/oily it is running rich . Grey/white its running lean .
  10. Oh . Ok if something has suddenly changed then may be there is a problem . The weather is warmer ( here at least ) and that has only just happened . Could be it needs retuning now that a few tankfulls have gone through ,could be a carb problem ...too much fuel could be the metering arm set wrong ....

  12. Bloody phone ! Try without your ear muffs on . you may find it fires on the second pull . Don't expect it to run on choke , just cough . Once its don't that choke in and pull till it runs . Usually 2 more pulls or so .
  13. Well you could try that . Setimes you can't hear that first " cogh "
  14. Just a thought , now that you have the faster , stronger, Makita ./ Would you pay £145 for that little Stihl ?
  15. Same camp here . Never had one fail either .
  16. You could not make it up !
  17. Talk to Eddie@Aspen on here ( that is his user name ) he will answer all your questions .
  18. Yea Peanut butter is a goodun . Also Bacon .
  19. Hard frost . Ice in the puddles . Bright sunshine Jon .
  20. Some Stihl saws use a more drive links than the equivalent Husqvarna saw for a given bar length . MS 201t against Husky T540 for example . The reason for this is the working bar length is measured from bar tip back to the power head . Then the distance from the front of the power head back to the drive sprocket may be longer on the Stihl than it is on the Husky hence one or two more drive links may be needed on the Stihl .
