  1. I used one of those for years in the tool room when I was younger . They go on forever . As far as I know its still running now . Good machines .

  3. Think its sold as a Redmex ? Could be wrong .
  4. Understood . Only just learn t it was a species of lime from this thread anyways .
  5. Gibsons ( SG and Les Paul ) are almost always Mahogany . The strat was made with what was avaliable at the time . Pine , swamp Ash ( my favorite ) and when the Swamp Ash ran out Alder . Other woods have been used as mentioned Basswood ( which I have just learnt is lime ! ) I like the combination of Swamp Ash body and one piece Hard Rock Maple for the neck .
  6. Well that's were you are going wrong then ! Everyone knows experience and knowledge don't mean jack !

    I was that soldier
  8. I always thought it was a pointless saw as it is only minutely more powerful than the lighter 372 and weighs very nearly the same as a 385 which makes more power .

Thats the thing there isn't . Id sooner have a woodie anyway You'll never make a dent in the woodie population .
  10. Early ones were non A/T .
  11. Squires are often thinner .
  12. The inset or Skunk stripe is to cover were the truss rod has been inserted on one piece maple necks . On rose wood capped necks it is put in from the fret board side .
  13. Is that a Squire ? i ask as the trem cover screw holes are in line with each other . On a genuine Strat the middle pair are offset .
  14. 44 - 45 mm on a genuine Strat . I have a few and they are in one piece swamp ash or one piece north American Alder . All around the 45mm mark .

Thats good matey . I see he is on the red list with fewer nesting chances because of not enough grain around at breeding time . We got plenty of Collards but to be honest not seen a Turtle for some time . Will keep my ears open whilst in the woods .

    Poised , waiting intently ........
  18. I occasionally still use the old method of parking by ear
  19. Its a " half and half " by the looks of it . On the ground safely I presume ?
  20. As per yesterday . Over night frost quickly melting from clear blue sky and bright sun shine . My kinda day !
  21. My guess is its someone local to you who keeps an eye out for any delivery vans and if he sees a driver " pop round the back " gives it a few minutes then " pops round the back" and helps himself .
  22. And will happily run a 36" .404 as I have for years .
