  1. Yes I have experienced the differing species . As you say some times you need to give it a shove to get the helix to bite in soft wood but once in it need to pull itself in to avoid the boring effect .
  2. One thing that I wonder about is do you let the cone pull itself in using the helix or do you force it down with the digger arm ? I have a cone splitter and when you push the log on you can let go and it pulls itself on and splits . If you try and force it it will sometimes bore a hole . If you see what I mean.......

    Check out D max DPF regeneration cycle issues , oil level rising , engines blowing up , no good for short trips ,etc etc .
  4. No . Spud ported my saws . Well worth the money in my opinion .
  5. There was one however in a garden in Funtington West Sussex .. Succumbed to HF I think . Dead standing . Still had to cut from both sides with the 50" bar .
  6. True . I sold my 3120 on a 50" canon bar as it got used once in a blue moon .

  12. I would go for a 390 over a 576 . They weigh almost the dsame but the 390 makes more power . But if it was between the 390 and the 395 it would be 395 all day long .
  13. Been using it since 2003 when I bought " west Coast " 385 from Canada . Went to get a new chain from my dealer back then and he did not know what I was talking about . Been getting it from the U.S. until recently .
  14. Check the the coil is the right gap to the fly wheel and also that the fly wheel key has not sheared and the fly wheel as not slipped round advancing the timing a tad .

  16. 362 is a sluggishg old lump many have said . 441 or 461 if you want Stihl 372XP or 390XP if you go Husqvarna Husky man myself but thats just me . With regard the 261 are you sure it was not the dreaded needle roller bearing problem caused buy the oval crank/sprocket thing that has affected most of them ?

  18. A good springer will do what you ask it , a good cocker will do what you ask it and then something else as well as it thinks it knows better .
