  1. Soft Dutchman ! a series of cuts under one side of the face cut which collapses one side of the gob to fell a tree in the opposite direction of its lean . ( side lean )
  2. Rack . = ride cleared during thinning to allow for extraction of timber .
  3. If anything it will be too loose as you are effectively making the bar smaller in every plane . Might have to loose one driver ....
  4. Metier piston is ok but get OEM pot .
  5. If you could get hold of a decent 2nd hand 346 and send it to spud for a port job you will be sorted . 550 performance ( or better ) and total reliability . Mine has been going for several years now .
  6. Have a look for the 261 needle roller bearing problem posts . The money you save will help to pay for a lorry load of replacement bearings ............
  7. You set me up you old goose you !
  8. Pointless unless you have a tuned racing saw . Maybe a ported 395 with a 15" bar and chain . Got some racing sprockets somewhere if you want to try one .
  9. If you like to lean on the saw then use the 7pin to make use of the torque .If you let the saw do the work and dont lean on it heavily then use the 8pin for the extra chain speed .
  10. Looks like the end of throttle cable .

    560XP 20" bar

    See post # 23 .......
  12. Either . Still I think are slightly harder but not a lot in it . I only use full chisel though .
  13. Obviously the thinner chain will spin round but as soon as you work it in wood it will tend to " flop " over one side or the other causing extra ware to the bar rails . I have done it before but its not ideal .

    560XP 20" bar

Ok . What ever you are running I would recommend the Sugihara Light weight pro bars . All my saw now have them . I have tried all sorts over the years .
  15. Do you mean incorrect pruning cuts ?
  16. Maybe a flip line as well ?

    560XP 20" bar

Are you running the original .325 or have you converted to 3/8ths ?
  18. Yes I do . I rate well . Initially I thought it was less powerful than the Stihl BG 85/6 that it is like but it actually has more puff just quieter !
