  1. It needs a trim periodically whether its shod or not . As I said the hoof grows just as your toe nails grow .
  2. Just as an aside ...When you say a horse shoe lasts about 6 weeks its because the horses hoof has grown to the point of it needing trimming back which usually results in new shoes being fitted . If the hoof did not grow I think they would last longer ( dependent on road work or grass )
  3. Yea ! What was the original post about Gary ?
  4. And they look superb . I would love to be able to afford a shot gun with Damascus twist barrels !
  5. I don't think there is a law saying you cant use it up a ladder its just the manufactures ( Ted ) don't advise it to cover there arse . I have one and just could not get on with it . I'm in the minority though I think .

    Mark Bolam

  7. Don't pull your parsnips until they have ha a frost on them . Stops the middle being " woody " .
  8. Clenched is what I was going to say but not sure if anyone would know what I meant !
  9. Glass is hard . Iron is tough . Hardness is resistance to abrasion . Toughness is resistance to breakage .
  10. It will always be a problem . I found a nail about one inch off centre in a 2 foot dia Holly . Must have been Victorian ! Farriers nails are relatively soft I think the way he bends them and files them back .
  11. In fact lateral play is desirable . That's why its called a " floating rim " . Caters for any slight miss alignment from the bar tip back to the power mate .
  12. Are sheep ticks the same as deer ticks ?
  13. Ah . Yep . Got it . The cross eyed face . Thanks Steve . Sorry to be a dim wit !
  14. Hi Steve . Don't know if this is a glitch or something I don't understand yet / I posted in the " can you burn wood in Manchester " thread and I received a notification to say someone had " reacted " to my post . I clicked on it but all I could see was my post . Should I be seeing something ? If not what does it mean when someone " reacts to your post ? ......

    New fire

You can burn a wood stove in a smokeless zone as long as it is one designed to do so . Burley for instance .
  16. No . As Mark will testify the future is garlic bread , and cheese cake .......
  17. Good point about the revenue but they will find a way to be sure . I used to help the milk man when I was a nipper and yes he had an electric float . I think things have come a long way since then . The Tesla power plant is recognized as one of , or the best to date .
  18. Think its a " Partner " and yes if it , is its Electrolux ? Husky owned
  19. With the prediction that there will be no more petrol or diesel powered vehicles manufactured by 2040 I have been pondering ( I very well may be dead by then ) I recon a pickup truck powered by the Tesla batteries would be ideal for the " game keeper / forrester / farmer " type chap . The huge torque that electric motors produce and the fact that you can plug it in every night after work kinda appeals to me . Certainly pisses on the DPF regen cycle thing going on with many of the pick ups now a days ( D max ) etc . Your thoughts please ..........
  20. Locked out just now for 10 mins or so .
  21. Your using the wrong toothpaste .....
