If they are still sound in the trunk I would just leave them . Pollarding would stress them even more I would think . We desperately need to find trees that are resistant or can recover for future stocks . So , if there is any chance they will come through it then we should give them it . I doubt it but what have you to loose ?

they probably have Chalara ( ash die back ) . Most of the Ash around here is struggling

I was not advocating trying it , and yes I know its not lawful just recounting what happened here . As far as I know he is still living in it . It all happened about 5 years ago .

There is a bloke local to me , a tree surgeon , who built a house inside his barn . He lived in it for a certain number of years then tore the barn down to reveal the house . Some people kicked off saying he did not have planning but , the story goes , because he could prove he had lived in it for X number of years he got away with it .

Thanks Gary . I do keep a stock of Ibuprofen but part of the prescription included Naproxin which is like a more " fuck off " Ibuprofen .

Yep I too wondered if it might be a virus . My brother had Guillain Barre and had to learn to walk again . I did not witness it as he lives in Aus . All the above is in hand . Seen GP twice , seen physio ( they agreed nerve damage but could not pin point the source ) . seeing a spine consultant on Wednesday as my GP thinks it might be a disk in my neck ...

Oh . I am sorry to hear that Gary . I am 66 and it is a first for me . Also I forgot to say it seems to have affected my vocal chords . I have partially lost my voice although I have no pain in my throat . Odd .
