  1. You godda do what you think is right . Get severing that ivy . You , on your Jack Jones won't stop climate change , if that is what is causing this ivy outrage ./
  2. Its shocking Jonathan when you view it like that matey . Right , everyone off to Sweden
  3. We have 2 high tide times in and around the Solent . As the moon pulls the water in some of it has to find its way round the tip of the I.O.W. so you get a second high tide a bit after the first one . Neat innit ? 🙂
  4. Thanks for getting back . Sometimes peeps don't once their problem is solved . 👍
  5. I think you can switch between the two especially , as you say , newer machines have better components . It mostly affects older saws that have been run on pump fuel for a long time . The pump fuel slowly degrades the rubber removing the coating that is on it to keep it supple but in doing this the petrol is making it supple as its degrading . Alkylate fuel will not remove the coating or attack the rubber but, if you switch to alkylate fuel after running pump fuel for a long time the rubber can become brittle and crack . This is not caused by the alkylate fuel its just showing up what the pump fuel has done over time . If you run a machine on alkylate fuel from the get go there won't be this problem . Also there will be virtually no carbon deposits the machiene .
  6. I got all the rubber components changed out to avoid this . So nope ! 🙂
  7. To be fair I have seen some trees toppled in winter winds that had a good covering . But , here where I live it seems to be the exception . Did not consider that it was the ivy that had made it grow " leggy" . Thought it was just the way plantation tree grow competing for the light .
  8. Oh yea I made it single handed as well . Just struck the swively handle that operates the ram with lightening and jobs a goodun .
  9. I made it into a legal road tow that's all , I think .
  10. Not much Ivy growing down the mines either .
  11. Go on then . How does it ?
  12. On the double ended one he is wasting a stroke . Split it once and the rotate both split bits together as if they were still one log and split again . That way you get 4 logs with 2 passes instead of 3 passes . Its what I do with mine anyway .
  13. 20" max . 18" is better balanced . get a 70cc or 80cc saw .
  14. I keep filing mine back untill some of the cutters fall off in use . I know it does not owe me anything then 😀
  15. Dunno matey . Its frightening .
  16. Got nothing against it but , if you get it right the first time you sharpen I don't see the need .
  17. Arse covering by the manufacturer I expect .
  18. If you don't get through a bottle in 2 weeks let alone 2 years your not working hard enough ! 😁
  19. It lasts for me and I am retired from full time cutting so I don't see it being a problem for you bud !
  20. Yea , that's why I mixed my own . Still have quite a lot of Redline racing 2T oil left .
  21. Yes .
  22. They are " ALL THE SAME " for practical purposes but there are differences that won't matter to us . They are all Alkylate fuel taken from the top of the refinery .
  23. I still remember the push bike up against the wall and the gnarly old stick you took out with just a had held Silky saw . I was impressed then .....🙂
  24. No . Its the Husqvarna equivalent . Very similar .
