    I am not so keen on them on a small snedding saw . On a big felling saw ( U.S. style ) they are good on chunky soft wood bark . I think its a " pimp it up " thing 😀

    I hear Bernard Cribbins has died . What a nice bloke . Hard working actor and singer . I remember when he got the job being the Wombles they asked him which one he wanted to be and he replied I can be them all , save you a few bob . He had been in so much stuff .

    As has been said the big spikes for a 562 will not fit a 560 because the mounting holes on the clutch cover are wider apart I think to allow for the 3/8ths running gear But , you can get big spikes for a 560 as I have some . They are Jonsered part number for their equivalent saw .

    If you leave any green on it may survive , if you cut back all the green but leave the branch that remains would that do ? Failing that you could try " Eco plugs " . Or pull the lot out and put up 6 foot panel fencing .

    I would say that its not really spalted just the natural heartwood figure . Stand the sticks up on end some damp ground for a year or two then it might spalt .
