  1. Hi Jen . You got my vote all day long . My Mum died of lung cancer 7 years ago . ( she never smoked all; her life ) My wife , however puts the pink T shirt on each year and does the run . Obviously I sponsor her but I commend you and wish you all the luck and some . Regards Andy .
  2. If you get a 560 it is 18" max . 576 is tooo heavy for a 70 cc saw that leaves 372 which is the one in my opinion . I have a 372 which is " spud ported " and is , dare I say it ...awesome . I also have a tweeked 560 that is also a stonker but suits a 15" - 18" bar . I had a 576 and did not like it just because it weighed the same , almost as a 385 and made the same power as a 372 so did not see the point of it ( dis counting emission regs ) Sooo 70 cc saw is a 372 for me . just my opinion but ....
  3. 372 for me if you are on a 20" bar . - 24" If you want a bit mopre grunt get spud to poet it . You will never look back !!!!!
  4. If you decide to do, it post how yew ( pardon the pun ) get on . Good luck bud .
  5. Yea maybe it coming good again . Not knocking it , it was good fun when we did it . I would do it again if the return was up again . One thig though ..... Hornets ! the buggers set up shop in yew sometimes . Had to do a runner a couple of times !!!!!!!!!!!
  6. We used to go around all the big posh houses in Sussex ( and there are lots ) and cut their hedges for free . We were getting a decent price peer weight then the price started to come down until it was more hassle; than its worth . You need a good long tarp and some builders bags . They allow for wet ! so don't think if its raining you gonna get a bit more ! . Steps and plat forms and a good fast single sided cutter ( I used a Husky ) with a leaf collector plate so yopu can fl;ick the harvest on top the tarp . Not rocket science but mid summer yopu need loads to drink !
  7. Like spring to day Jon . Walked the dog in my shirt sleeves ! Can't seem to get my head round the snow up north !!
  8. Yep don it for 2 or 3 seasons a while back . It was for a french pharmaceutical firm . It was just the new growth , inch or two . Eventually it did not pay . Maybe its on the up again ??
  9. We put a tawny decoy up a big something ( can't remember what now ) Thing is owls mostly hunt evening to first light . Maybe better with some other decoy like a peregrine or the like . I do think the birds eventually become accustomed to it when nothing happens though .
  10. Yea its a limit stop for the AV . Well spotted
  11. Any wood will burn green if you get a hot enough base to the fire ( bon fire is a good example ) but it is not good for your chimney as has been stated .
  12. Sure its not something that was on the bench and been picked up by the flywheel magnets when you have had the cover off ??
  13. If its got the chain pitch stamped on the bar ( which it has , 3/8 ) then it should have a nose sprocket ! You say its opened up a bit . My guesses would be the sprocket has disintegrated and is ling gone . If it was meant to be a hard nosed bar it would not have the chain pitch stamped on it . It would run any chain of the right gauge ( .058 in you case ) Sooo me thinks you need a new nose sprocket or better still a new bar !
  14. Ok . Side to side , as you suggest could be a narrow kirf chain in a wider bar groove . Most common width of the drive tangs is .050" then .058"then .063" . Another thing could be bar rails worn down / uneven . Try dressing of any burrs with a flat file . Could be oil hole in bar blocked or wrong bar for power head and oil outlet does not line up with hole in bar . Possibly .........
  15. First thing , is the chain sharp ??
  16. Jon don't piss about . He gets it done !!!!!
  17. My missus said when she heard Tom singing Delilah it was all oveer !
  18. Could it be the 12 pumps where you are going wrong ? mine is one or none if its less than a minute or two ....
