  1. Wood turners love it . especially if you can slice the blanks through where the branches shoot . It then leaves the best patterns when machined .
  2. Most sensible reply so far Big J. Wish I had said something like that .

Yea Iv done that sorta tapered hinge so it rotates around on the thicker side .

I think side notching and face sweep is taking off the root claws and generally making a clean surface before putting in any felling cuts ...Could be wrong
  5. If this were a car giant , say Toyota and it was a safety issue ( brakes was one ) then there would be an instant recall ...............

Yea. Still could be Lorenzo . I think it all depends on how many " Honda Tracks " there are against how many " Yamaha tracks " there are . Also can Yam get their bike to change gear like the Honda .
  12. I recon thats down to the " shaker " they use on the plating test .

So sorry mate . Thoughts are with you all .
  16. Went to Coombelands cross country course to cheer on two friends of my wife who were competing in the pairs event . Sunny day .
  17. Yea but I think you can .... 268 is in relative terms a relic ( good saw in its day ) the 550 albeit smaller capacity is more efficient in delivering its power and may cope fine . I have a 560 and run that on an 18" and its well within its scope . I think a 550 would be ok . but as has been said best on 13" - 15" .
  18. These are the reasons for not running an 18" bar on a 550 then ?
  19. Going to murder his chain converting after skidding though !
