  3. hi guys as it say i was planning on going with a friend but they have pulled out got something else on i would drive but have not really got a 5 th gear at the moment and dont fancy driving all the way down there is anyone going for hertfordshire i live in watford but can drive to a location I am willing to contribute towards fuel costs if anyone is going tomorrow many thanks people can pm me of whatever i will be on here most of the night. sorry for the short notice.

  5. hi guys only just seen this thread and the last two posts say it all and you are all so generous im from watford and can offer my services if needing doing what ever I dont really mind please let me know or PM me im pretty flexible and have all my own ppe.
  6. ive done the same with a willow pollard knuckle from a take down took it to a customer and it looks really good after a years worth of growth

I have worked on the ground many times in london on planes in the height of summer and its a nightmare wearing a mask but i have worn one a couple of times as i have asthma but its not that bad its more sneezing than everything else. but they do need to find a way to make a sprinkler system for chipping as thats always fun.
  8. for a laugh i tried to fix my old boots as the end of the sole was coming away from the main boot i used some small screws and gorralla glue let it dry sanded the excess off then used sealent to give it the ture waterproofness i ocassionly use them now and i still have dry feet and the screws are in at an angle so you can feel them.
  9. After work today i decided to head down to the local woods, wippendell woods and take a couple of picture try out the camera once in a while. some of you guys may even know the fungi as well as i have not a clue.
  10. Haix protector pro's all the way ive had 2 pairs now and they have been brilliant very waterproof and comfortable good ankle support as well.
  11. i went last year the weather was good beer and a good chat spend plenty of money. what more could we want ?? ............. loads of free stuff would be brilliant

  13. ive always used the anti bacterial wipes and wipe it clean and usually take the peices of the ear defenders apart after the week as condensation damp and all sorts gets loast behind the foam so it makes them last a little bit longer
  14. its a bit off topic but looking back over the thread at the stuff about wippendell woods is quite intresting i live very local to it and majority of weekend go cycling and walking though there and its a pity what they have done to the woodland as i have seen it for so long. also the avenue of mature beech trees to the north of wippendell woods are all failing now.... its intresting to see what has possibly happened to these trees.
  15. i think that could do more but the iveco euro cargos seem to be great the one down side is the licences but still good for in london and the surronding area.
  16. got a good few replys i like them i know it is very hard to find spare time but we do all make the most of it. or spend all our time on arbtalk or in bed

  19. i know its a bit away from the thread but reading about all the loading capabalities why dont you guys get a 7.5 tonner as i worked for a few companies before and they are a god send just one down side you will never get them onto drive ways.

  22. hi all bit of a random one as we all as tree surgons we all work outside for long periods of time but what do you guys enjoy doing out side of work, I am a very outdoor person and thats what got me into the industry. joining the scouting movement was one of the biggest things i joing in 1999 as a small kid and have never left it has tought me so many things. I also go rock climbing and am a rock climbing instructor taking trips all around the uk. finally i do lots of hikes most weekends inculing back to basic camps staying in hammocks and other sort of shelters. free time can be quite limited but its all good fun. so what do you guys do in your spare time?? pictures are always good as well.
