  1. Good luck from Westmeath, Ill be shopping soon!
  2. I bought the cat b15q great phone tough smartphone
  3. I could be doing with something like that at the moment
  4. Ive been at the Irish shows the last 2 times as have been at the last 2 apfs.. Our shows arent a patch on apf to be honest. Ill be looking to go to a decent show in europe this year. The last show in Laois was forestry based but had climbing Competitions and a small bit of Arb stuff. The Ploughing is better for machinery too.
  5. I have a good chap who does anything I need in starters and alternators, he uses decent parts and isnt dear, the only recurring problem I had on my mk3s electrics was the black box up on the wing. other than that I ghot him to do anything the truck needed.
  6. For me it has to be Yamaha, had a grizzly 660 and kodiak 400. Im waiting for a diesel gator or similar to come along. kodiak is a great bike. grizzly loves petrol and irs is lethal when loaded. Current work dictates utv so thats what Ill get. though the hilux will do for the moment.. never use rose tinted glasses when looking at quads, there never great workhorses even the 6x6 polaris arent great
  7. Ive been on here a long time learning and sharing any relevant experience I have. I was asked a few years ago to remove a few dead trees ( 6ft rotten garden centre things) then trim hedges, so on and so forth eventually leading to thinning some forestry and taking down some 80ft spruce trees. All the while working as a storeman and hating every second of my job in a factory. Ive done my UA1, CS 30 31, booked the 32 and pole pruner. I start doing Utility work in the new year. I would like to thank the ladies and gents who post on here and openly share knowledge and experience. After my second APF Ive met a few of you and have more to meet! Thank you and have a happy and safe 2015:thumbup1:
  8. Pro Splitting Axe | Professional-Grade Pro Splitting Axe | STIHL USA Mobile
  9. thats the stihl one, mines a few miles away but same thing, same company only sticker
  10. A Stihl Kombisystem is well worth considering. I have the pole pruner, 180 scrub cutter, blower and strimmer head. It doesnt do every job perfect but acceptable. Ive a Stihl 45 hedge cutter. I was going to get the pro model this year but its too heavy and I get paid per day so I didnt upgrade yet... The comment about the oil on the cutters is a great tip Ill be taking up. Remember to grease the gearboxes on trimmers at least annualy, maybe more if used full time. Leylandi allergy rash is very annoying so cover up if you get it
  11. Stihl splitting axe, used a maul from b and q, was as good... Ive 2 log splitters so axes are nearly just memories!
  12. krpan looked well put together. there are so many available, each has merrits for different tasks, what are you hoping to do with it?
  13. anyone know how to get a cat out of a tree?? usually one way to start a row here
  14. My late uncle, at a firehouse BBQ in New England
  15. interesting concept, anything on the market for hikers, climbers?
  16. Im 32, been progressively getting into tree removal, reduction for the past three years. Im going to start with a company at Utility arb work in January. Ive done Safe Pass, Manual handling, doing ua1, cs 30, 31, 32, Pole pruner, Truck licence this month. Love the work and cant wait for more experience and skills
  17. Not much of a useful point to you now but has anyone got pics of a setup with like an Ifor tipper with a transverse drawbar mounted chipper blowing into the trailer? OP if you get a pickup like a ranger or Hilux get ramps for mowers, they get heavy by the evening!
  18. Mightnt be the man for the job if still making schoolboy mistakes. I wouldnt name anyone on here though unless its light hearted banter.
  19. I use the 660 for ringing anything over 1 1/2 feet, It eats timber, Ive cut 5 foot rings no problem. I held an 880 and felt the urge.... that saw appeals to my dna... Cant justify one but if I could Id buy it in a heartbeat
  20. more useable than you think! mine needs chain brake attention, not selling just saying! Id love an 880
  21. Russian woman carrying a log count as arb?????
