  1. Im giving the gaffer a warning! this is a public family friendly forum!!!!
  2. like the APF Im not able to bring much gear on a plane! Id go for a look, though I can only buy harness etc, It would be interesting to see the hoists and trucks you have there...
  3. So for the money they cant really be faulted... there no Vermeer BC1000XL but horses for courses... and prices!
  4. Its great... I get the typical Irish drinker thing. hard to avoid drink driving there though... If it wasnt for the better half I would have stayed on after my last trip..
  5. try Connecticut.... every barmaid, waitress etc cant chat enough... on US trips unlimited mileage on rental car is essential.... they tried to nail me for GPS so I bought a US only Tom Tom for $80 look up Cabelas if your into hunting or shooting, well worth the visit... though they ship cheap...
  6. Last day I did for an old gent, no appearance of wealth, decent salt of the earth chap i got E200 and easily earned it, took 8 - 12 ft off 6 leylandi hi hilux full when chopped in the truck. if there was a merc outside and massive house it would be different
  7. No, still here in Ireland... over in New England every year on holidays, usually my holidays involve a Taurus or Charger a lot of miles and a lot of alcohol... That would be a cool drive, If you do it stop in some middle of nowhere places.... there reaction to people from so far away is priceless! Washington Is a nice city to spend a day in... pentagon tour is impressive though you see nothing exceptional!
  8. I was reading it had its 300th homicide this year today or yesterday! I was at the port in September, massive place. Itll do me as an excuse to get away for a week, road trip from Boston for the crack..
  9. website?? is it all aspects like apf? id definately be game to visit this
  10. enthusiastic, not desperate. competent confident. as for vehicle ive a 2002 hilux very clean and feck all dents or scrapes. does all I ask it to do within reason..
  11. why not both, you can get a deep fried breaded mars bar in mullingar, linghis chipper.... hell of a lot cheaper than a truck
  12. waht about a battered newish truck??? just throwing it out there...
  13. that might be classed as hi viz, mines metallic black.... new york is ridiculous and bike couriers - delivery guys seem the same everywhere... suicidal cyclists! hope the chap recovers though
  14. £500 is about E700 It sounds a little expensive to me... as a saturday job for me + 1 but if its on a site with a manacured lawn, flower beds, plenty of hardship it would be worth it!
  15. with permits of course!!!! now think in a middling estate in Mullingar, Athlone, Navan etc the pickup fills in no time, trailer not as bad but bad. when the whole lot can go into the hilux chipped... Ive used a pto chipper before on work and its great but mrs miggins hates the place blocked up with the deere. and ive to bring pickup and tractor. ive been wasting time and money by not chipping so I think its the answer!
  16. angry man with a beard is what our company uses...
  17. its a mental place . but he must have went around cordons or something....
  18. My ideal setup for this sized work would be something like a Jo Beau mounted on the drawbar of an ifor tipper. blow chip into the trailer or swing the spout into the pickup. Someday Ill get it the way I want it
  19. the problem with cuttting the waste up small is it still has to be dealt with. that and the recycling yards closing earlier than I finish so waste managment really becomes an issue. Chip is a lot easier to get rid of, I know a few people that I could drop it off to. The trailer is very well built but for the money Id buy a small light trailer fit to hold logs, a stump grinder, ride on mower etc if required. I could probably use my ramps and a hand winch to load the chipper into the hilux or ifor for the moment.
  20. Im very tempted, ill give it a little thought and figure it out thanks!
  21. would you reccomend this as a first chipper? Ive a high sided Hilux and Ifor Williams High sided trailer. my main use for the chipper would be for dealing with leylandi, laurel etc hedge reductions. Im currently brash bashing with the saw but want to be able to get more into the truck and trailer. I know it has limited capability. anything over 3 inches can be kept for firewood. Can anyone advise me to pros, cons of the small chipper???
