Can anyone please help with this serious accident?

Last year there was a young lady killed by a falling tree in a big town near me. It was a roadside ash. The tree had been reported as being dangerous by locals to council. The councils main timber contractor passes the road daily. This year the council are making farmers remove most of the roadside trees. Lesson was learnt but too little too late -

For just mowing and spreading out the side I had forgotten how good the Snapper Hi Vac mowers were, I priced some work and got an old one that had been left out for years. It wasnt sparking so I cleaned the fly wheel and it ran. Belts will need changing soon but it done an hours mowing no problem! Ill buy the good mower for nice finish anyways but Its always nice to keep a good old machine running

Pity there not commercial spec, that seems like a fair and honest opinion thank you! Im looking for it for a half acre lawn, mowed weekly and would like to mulch half to two thirds of the time... I havent came accross any Kazz mowers over here but Im going to Manchester soon and might look some up over there

I use a Sitrex 6 foot finishing mower behind a Ford 3000 on the big Plain areas, Zero turn would be a bit big, there are a few trees and shrubs close together, and no striping!

For a contractor tool that mower would take a lot of beating, they have a great strong deck. It wont stripe the grass for me though! the Roller Mower works out at 1200 Euro new, Id be game for a minded un abused second hand one either...

My own lawn is about half an acre, there are a few trees on it, Im currently using a self drive Snapper mower but am thinking of upgrading to one of the John Deere walk behinds. Has anyone used the Deere with the back roller? Ive used Snapper, Castlegarden, Stiga and Honda ride on mowers but they all suffer the same manoeverability issues. My original Snapper Hi Vac used to leave the grass striped, the deere would do the same... I tried a Suffolk Punch cylinder mower once but found it far too slow to be practical! Anyone like the R54RKB

I use a Hayauchi silky head with up to 10 meters of rods, the head gets hit, pulled, twisted, caught and no real problems. I think that speaks volumes!

3 of us with a Stihl bavarian axe cut an ash tree about a foot and a half in diameter. the axe is still beside the bed, never seen timber since! it gave a strange sense of respect, nostalgia and It was a memorable occasion for my father, myself and one of our friends, the chainsaw processed the rest of the tree in a lot less time but nearly was a let down

Thanks for the replies! I think the dumper might be the way forward, its all light and all firewood so doubt id be even skidding out anything -

How do you plan to extract? ive a 5 acre plantation of 30 yo pine to thin. peat ground and access through field with only gravel track to gate. There is too little timber to justify a forwarder, a quad wouldnt be cost effective (too many light turns, churning up the place) thinking track dumper... -

anyone ever try using a Honda or similar track dumper on a brash mat? I have to bring firewood out of a small plantation. my thoughts are for the amount of first thinnings to come out fell, brash, cut to either meter lengths or logs, remove with dumper to the trailer. thus leaving all the mess there to rot. Would the tracks handle it or is that partly why the Iron Horse has those wide tracks... Too wet for quad, too little for forwarder, too impatient for horses!
