  1. There are a few ' hotspots ' up here . I was driving by one quite recently and saw a guy with a professional camera set up at the side of the road . I pulled over and got an amazing wildlife experience , a pair came so close i could see the tags on their wings
  2. Aberdeen must be one of the best places to see them . Guaranteed sightings at certain places . They are very photogenic aswell because they dont mind coming in very close to humans ... beautiful birds
  3. Dont really clock distance etc i'm more working on technique at the moment but youve aroused my curiosity now that you mention that . Need alot of focus for them marathons, not my thing but good luck anyway
  4. Can you add skate to that ? I like to get some ice time in
  5. I watched a bumble bee slowly giving up on my path the other day . It looked physically ok which i thought strange . On closer inspection i noticed a neat hole pierced into the back of its skull maybe a mm or two in dia. Intrigued to find out what caused this a quick search on the net and hey ho the culprit is a ' flower spider ' or crab spider which lurks in the vegetation and waits on its said victim . It injects venom into the back of the skull and digests the brain of its prey . Not seen that before !!
  6. They will take young chicks out the nest aswell . Saw one do it to a magpie's nest . The magpies go berserk and try to drive the crow lower and lower , depends who is the more desperate .
  7. Its so light and zippy Chris you almost feel you have a jungle Knife on the end of your arm rather than a chainsaw
  8. Incidently if its predominantly forestry work your doing dont bother looking at anything other than the 550 , some may disagree just my opinion
  9. HaHa .. hope you werent rumbled and got some lolly out the stingy buggers !!
  10. Price per ton seems a bit ' old school ' to me . Correct me if i'm wrong but how can you pay the same price for hanging up every tree compared to a nice open canopy forest ? I'm genuinely intrigued ..
  11. Never tried a 346 k9 so cant say if the 550 is better or not ( i would think it is on potential performance only ) . You can be old school or be the new kid on the block 346 will be gone soon anyway
  12. Timbrel , i believe is still one of the best ' scrub ' herbicides , very expensive though so normally only used on priority type situations .
  13. I've got the 550 and its a ripper . The pick up is scary fast combined with its ultra lightness i cant see it being beat in its class ( spud tune aside ) . A word of caution though if you intend to cut biggish timber regularly then i wouldnt recommend it , the saw is just too physically small .
  14. Well said Pete .. Behavior of staff and players of recent ' old firm ' games totally unnacceptable imo and wouldn't be accepted in any other walk of life . The number of domestic violence incidents etc after these games is deplorable and a blight on our society . I cant help but notice American sports , especially basketball where tough cities come together , supporters on the very edge of the court can enjoy watching their teams with not even a hint of bother . Football , i dislike it with a passion now but i respect there are are good lads on here and thats their thing which is all good
  15. Some stunning photos there ...
  16. His post has turned out to be a red herring ...
  17. Liked the ritual type stuff before the fights and the garments they wear etc gives it a special honour amongst battle hardened men and as apb said alot of emotion . Its non stop action and certainly no time to ' rest for a couple of rounds '!! .... Chisora and Haye should take a leaf out their book and i apologise for even mentioning their name on this thread .
  18. Yes , its so big its self supporting theres nothing holding it up . One of the most imposing , extrordinary statues in the world imo .
  19. Hi Pedroski , sorry i dont have a link but it was on the Russia Today channel all last week . They have a documentary on Russian culture , lifestyle etc which is repeated every few hours throughout the day . The monument is in Volvograd and is of absolutely immense size . The top climbers in Russia have a maintenance programme on it .... amazing , not for the faint hearted .... hope you can find it P.S if i find it on again I'll give you a heads up
  20. Thats the dream for the wife and i also
