Just sat here waiting for the guys to turn up, should be a good game
  3. And now you have to explain what Byker Grove is to the even younger members 😁
  4. I'd have thought that long term the tickets will earn you far more money than the transit. You'll always have the tickets but a vehicle will be gone in a fairly short time
  5. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked last night. Well done guys, I'll be coming back. 👍👍
  6. Woohoo!!!
  7. I feel very left out, didn't get one
  8. That could be the secret then, when I was using them I had to stretch a bit to reach them probably resulting in me sliding them off the magnet. They were exceptionally strong magnets mind.
  9. Thankfully nobody's told my Yamaha outboard that it can't run on ethanol added fuel 😁
  10. I tried magnets but found when I sharpened the tools that the swarf would stick to the cutting edge because they had become magnetised. Have you come across this happening Steve?
  11. Its not a licence its a certificate of competence I think your post make this perfectly clear so I dont see why you should have been surprised when you couldn't report someone for not having a licence
  12. There's a pebble on my driveway
  13. And who would police these new regulations. All you would do is give legitimate companies another layer of red tape to complete, it would probably be great for the certifying authorities who would have a whole new layer of qualifications to put everyone through. But there's no way that any money would ever be available to set up a countrywide surveillance operation so anyone who didn't want to jump through these new hoops could just carry on with little chance of being caught.
  14. So it stabilises the fuel but does it stop the ethanol degrading the fuel pipes etc?

That actually puts the price of this mill into perspective.
  16. Dont give any away for free, they WILL have a good budget for this sort of stuff but, undestandably, always start by pleading poverty. Start stupidly high and negotiate down, you may well be surprised at how much money is floating around in these type of productions.
  17. Not really any difference to feeling the resistance when using an Alaskan and a winch on that is a godsend. Still feel the resistance but much easier job alround
  18. Thats some beautiful markings what part of the Pollard was it from? The head?
  19. Here's mine, great labour saver
  20. Yep, wish it was my idea but its not. Heard of someone who did this back in the late 80s, leafleted a whole estate, all the houses had really small front lawns only. He offered to cut and strim for £1,quick in and out, 5 mins a property and on to next door. Really paid off for him, ended up picking up whole rows of houses
  21. If its all new builds then leaflet the whole estate, they'll all be either looking for someone to now the lawn or thinking about buying a mower. Get in quick with a fair price and hope to pick up a fair few clients in one place could be a little goldmine
  22. I think you've pretty much just described me 😁😁
  23. For the nose sprocket problem there's 2 solutions I can think of. Shorten the rails so you clamp tight on the bar without pinching the sprocket, this is what most of us do or (and I've never tried this but think I read it on here somewhere) weld a 20p piece on the clamps so it clamps on the very centre of the sprocket, doesn't pinch the sprocket and lift the clamps just enough so they clear the chain, dont forget to weld one on the innerclamp as well so it all lines up the same. Oh, just thought of another solution, buy an Alaskan from rob d or if you're a cheapskate like me buy one secondhand on eBay.
  24. Is there any reason you're not thinking about an Alaskan mill just to get started? A much lower initial outlay, especially if you already have the saw and if things start to take off you can sell it on later if you need to invest in other equipment.

That might be just what many people are looking for. Now I just have to resist temptation.
