  2. Looks good mate, just need the pro edge now!
  3. I know, just been pricing the outrigger attachment £212 delivered 😮 The only thing I HAVE to have is an insert for my chuck, the rest can wait a bit
  4. With help from Dan Earp I've just bought a Nova DVR lathe, just like the one he got a couple of weeks ago, in fact from the same place. Mentioned to Dan the other day how jealous I was of his recent purchase and he phoned the bloke up to find that he had another one for sale. A few hectic phonecalls later and the deals done. Hopefully I'm picking it up on a week Saturday. Again many thanks Dan, wouldn't have got it without you, but I'd be richer 😁😁
  5. The deals not completed yet, just need to heck some bank accounts etc
  6. After our phone conversation I may not be able to afford one screw let alone a whole set!😁😁👍
  7. That great information, I'll look I to getting some. Its great the stuff you can find out on arbtalk.
  8. What Geoff said, 2 questions I was wondering about. Lovely work btw
  9. Here you go dan, so e reading for you,and a link to replacements http://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/allen-screw-removal-from-chuck-jaw-t86557.html
  10. Yep, they're stupidly soft screws, was a thread about it on another forum recently, you're not alone in round ing them off. Best to change them for some better quality ones, I'm going to once I can be arsed to get my old (rounded) ones out.
  11. Yep, I remember that stage mate, lots of cock ups to come yet 😁😁
  12. Hi dan On that natural edged bowl I wouldn't have the woodworm screw hole in the bottom of the bowl, instead I'd have put the hole in the top of the blank and then turned a chuck recess in the bottom and then mounted it in the chuck jaws.
  13. Heal quickly Sean, hope to see you back posting soon
  14. I had a play with a few different size drills a while back and I think I decided on 7mm. Wood type does make a difference, some requiring lighter cuts than others
  15. Same here, I've got a supernova and I'm not too sure whats spinning?
  16. Nice start Dan, how do you like the lathe?
  17. I've got both and always go to the band saw first, so much more versatile
  18. He sold his stake in the production company to the BBC in 2012
  19. That would be considered good condition for the average ride on up here
  20. I've got an image of you taking one into the workshop and then going back out and moving each one forward 6 foot just to keep the line looking neat and tidy. 😁😁
  21. Looks beautiful, any more pictures?
  22. I've got an aftermarket crank in mine (came from Greece via eBay) and it seems fine. Been in 3 years and I happily mill with it. Not sure I'd want to trust an aftermarket top end though, mine failed very quickly and I ended up biting the bullet and fitting an original stihl.

    Lathes.

When do you pick yours up Dan? Will be interesting to see what that one on eBay goes for, £500 at the moment but reserve not met. As you say it looks almost new. My guess is about £1400
  24. Nice one dan Only used a DVR once and was really impressed, great lathes.
  25. Did you get the one that finished on eBay last night? Was a good price I thought
