  1. Nice!
  2. Chipped Bird Cherry smells like Bitter almonds,
  3. We wasted loads of money with Yellat first, I 'm not that clever with computers and next I paid someone to work on the web site, it is on 1st page google now, so was worth it I think.
  4. I'd thought I had a neck /nerve problem for years, had scans and seen specialist, but it was only when a friend who happens to be a hand surgeon stayed with us and saw what I was putting up with I went back to a doctor, and it was CTS, so it can be all sorts, you are right.
  5. Spring like and sunshine:)
  6. If you put your hands together in front of you and press hard, palm to palm, if the hands go numb then it is likely to be CTS, not all the fingers go numb, I think it was thumb, index and middle. Pain felt like someone had parked a bus on my hand and I got temporary relief by tying my hand with a tubigrip bandage to a wooden spoon (yes really), you need to keep the hand and wrist straight, a special wrist support can be worn, but it is NOT the one sold in sports shops, it is not the correct angle, they have to come from the hospital, I got one eventually and it did help until the operation.

You sound worried about your state of health? go and get checks done at doctor and get some profesional advice. Aches and pains are normal when doing something new like climbing (they do go once your body is used to it), but being breathless is not good. enjoy the climbing!
  8. Was back using a saw about 4weeks after op (right hand) but could do log deliveries after 2-3, hand 100% a few years later now, so did it no harm! Hospital were quite flexible about when I had the op, if it is really causing a lot of pain, get it done asap. Hope you get it all sorted
  9. Being a 'Tree Surgeon' is a very skilled occuaption, not many good ones out there! plenty of 'wanna be's' who dont know one end of a tree from another!

Just thinking... we would not be here today, running a Tree Surgery & Firewood business on our own property in Northumberland if it had not been possible to get on the property ladder in 80's by buying our council house! RIP Maggie
  11. There was a similar thread very recently (someone looking for size 8 chainsaw trousers)and they got recommended a brand etc, cant remember what they were!but you could do a search? I'm not as small as you, small Hi flex Sthill a good fit on me, but always need a good belt, ... Have you found comfortable small boots? my new Blue mountain Haix (5) are agony!
  12. What about how many logs/ lumps of timber have you handballed/stacked today? the last thing I will want to do after moving 21 metres of firewood today by hand is run or swim!!!
  13. 9.30pm snowing...
  14. A builders bag is 0.75 m3, so works out £70 m3/ around average I would say for mixed logs?
  15. Never looked at this thread, cant see any pictures!?
  16. Had lots of customers asking is it STILL the same price? as if they are expecting a price hike, so re-thinking the prices, any one else doing the same?
  17. Turning away customers for nearly 2 weeks , yesterday had an overdue artic load seasoned cordwood delivered, , so guess what we'll be busy doing over Easter!!
  18. I got hold of some sweet chestnut last year and it burnt beautifull, like oak, smells like oak too when you cut it,
  19. Mad / Mental only dry softwood left and orders coming in all the time...
  20. Hail / ice storms sun and rain all in 1 afternoon!
  21. My'n done April 2 years ago, 'miss heard' the doctor and thought he said I'd be back at work (self employed so important) in 3 weeks! Big mistake, it was 3 weeks before stitches out I think, but I could do log deliveries before then (with gloves on of course,) and chainsaw work fairly soon after. 100% back to normal and wouldnt know Id ever had it done within a few months. Have a friend who is a hand specialist in a hospital, and she said that exercises are good, she gave me a soft rubber ball that you had to squeeze with bad hand, which was supposed to be one of the best exercises. Hope you're 100% asap!
  22. Wark Forest Landscapes | Tree Surgery Hexham/Tree Surgeon/Firewood Logs/Firewood/Tree Surgeons Northumberland/Tree Work/Tree Pruning but not updated for a while! like our FB pages they have more recent photos etc, warkforestlandscapes (you can like if you want!)
  23. I ended up with a 357 as could not get a 346 at the time, 15" bar great for small work, but often use an 18" bar for larger stuff, find the chain break ok etc.
  24. (Recommendations from another women!). I have always used a Husky 357, it is so easy to start etc. But recently have used my husbands 261, finding the lighter saw is better when cutting for 6-7 hours, as it is a bit lighter, whatever you use you will get used to it after a while! Think I will eventually replace the Husky with the 261. Stephnie
