  1. It could also be a sign of a faulty head gasket. Check your coolant level isn't dropping, no oily surface on the coolant, and no white mayo like substance on the oil cap
  2. Just loosened the two bolts in mine, slid the plate in with the gasket between and tightened. 2 min job mate.
  3. Cheers mate, here's to 2018s batch of "pissed off saws"
  4. Sounds like you have me sussed, its that kind of customer service (and the distinct lack of a more pleasant alternative) that keeps me coming back. For what its worth I had the echo all cleaned up for boxing, then started using it again. I genuinely cleaned a slug out of the flywheel cover. That would have kept you going for days!
  5. Don't see how your bridge attachment would cause this, whet its a carabiner or a swivel. I have noticed that it was a constant occurrence with a by, and no longer any issue on mechanical.
  6. haha I thought I'd made up for the husky with the 66, guess some people just love a good moan! I want you to do everything possible with my little naughty echo in the new year. Don't worry though, ill use it to muck out the cow shed before packaging.
  7. how's that cheap Chinese bitch I warmed up for you?
  8. Ffs man that 357 you did for me wasnt my fault! Ill bet you've not had much cleaner than my 66!
  9. little cedar reshape from earlier this week. 3 climbers made a very quick job of it.
  10. I think the closest I get to that is tree work. Objective. That's all. Maybe smokes and coffee are on my list too, but then I really didn't make a conscious decision to do either, did I?
  11. Yeah Ross's GRCS has certainly improved your access time.
  12. We need the help. I've worn mine down to a nub, and @Mark Bolam can't afford the necessary medication to keep him "functional" at that rate.
  13. Even in 2h with RFW engaged the front wheels are locked, so can't turn independently of each other, meaning driving on hard surfaces and turning causes damage.
  14. The system on my old b2500 is ridiculous. In 4h both diffs are locked so you can't keep in in 4 for road driving. Its has Remote Free Wheeling, where you can shift between 2 and 4 on the fly, but the front diff is still locked even though it's not driven. Means you can't drive in RFW on roads where there's patches of snow and clear tarmac. You'd have to stop to engage 4, and stop to disengage RFW on the clear stretches.
  15. So the difference between the old road tyres I had and the discoverer at3s is night and day. Been driving all day today in wet roads and its grippy as hell. No weight in the back and I've been flinging it into corners. I can still get it to kick out if I try but overall a big difference.
  16. Just off to get some discoverer at3s fitted to the mazda. Around £350 for 4 corners fitted. Ill take it for a drive and see how they go.
  17. So after a bit of reading the Cooper Discoverer AT3 seem to have the best feedback for wet tarmac conditions as well as being an all terrain tyre, because of their silica based compound. From what I understood, natural rubber tyres are nice and grippy in warmer climes, but hard and slippy in cooler temperatures. The coopers are also significantly cheaper. Even if they're not as good in mud as the favourite BFGs, it's a small sacrifice for on road traction with the weather we get. I'm pretty sold.
  18. Interesting thread Steve. I've got road tyres on my B2500 which are lethal in anything but dry conditions. Problem is that AT & MT tyres can be even worse on wet tarmac. I'll wager that most of us spend more time on wet tarmac than snow or mud. I'd like a decent all terrain (Or even mud terrain) that handles very well on wet roads. Any recommendations?
  19. are you sure it's not a case of "the older I get the better I was"?
  20. Seems fair to me that a climber would want to know who he's committing a day to, just as sure as you'll want to know any applicant is qualified and competent at their job. There's a lot of hopeless climbers out there, but equally there's lots of half baked companies!
  21. turns out I already have a spare long eye, as of today. Ill redo it when I can be bothered, so I probably won't. Needed an excuse to buy some polydine anyway
  22. cut my rigging line today, branch above the pulley and I wasnt concentrating. Didn't like that stupid long spliced eye anyway.
  23. I've tried the tm top harness. It was handy when chogging with the 66 but found it got in the way the rest of the time. Just another thing to get caught up. It was also pretty uncomfortable and annoying that it wasn't quick release. I found that by properly adjusting the harness and wearing it how its supposed to be (tightly below the hips) it didn't slip much anyway.
