  1. Ast last you've already got the saddle and reins for it though.
  2. Christ! I didn't know that about him! Seem them twice live, brilliant!
  3. wasn't prying mate but fair play. You choose a good gig to make that decision to. Went to a Rise Against gig a few years back. Most of the lads stayed at the back, my best mate and I went straight to the front when they opened. Caught up with each other on the train home, both of us bloodied and drenched in other people's sweat. We then proceeded to make the whole carriage uncomfortable as he made jokes about my sister and I decided to loudly lie about the fact that she was 13 next week. Good times.
  4. only the done thing if you're going to have someone's pants down. In case anyone wonders if James is joking, he's not.
  5. I think it helps with the shafting...
  6. I imagine they'd be epic live. Not sure how that would stop me drinking though
  7. Some proper American pop punk from the late nineties.
  8. I've got a 16 year old B2500 Mazda. Decent truck, but it's screaming at 3,000rpm on the motorway and lacks power towing. That said is super reliable...
  9. The first 99 on that list is "coke and whores"...
  10. Yeah, Redline synthetic 2 stoke racing oil. 50:1, there's no point mixing it at 40:1. Its that good you could probably run it even leaner than 50:1 with no ill effect.
  11. Rupe, a touch of topic but do you foresee a lot of use for srt on spikes? When wearing spikes I make a point of using them to ascend rather than my rope. Srt is fantastic for pruning etc but I don't get the appeal for dismantles.
  12. There's quite a few old timers we don't see often. Perhaps it's to do with the fact that the forum is mainly full of new posters asking the same sorry of questions, and not many long time posters starting new threads. I'm very much guilty of this. Always seems to be something going on and I struggle to find time to sit down an write a well thought out post. I've no excuse, I just freelance climb. If the bigger company owners can do it I should pull my finger out.
  13. I Just use the correct depth guage meter. Every couple of sharpens or if I remove a lot of material. My chains always cut near enough to new. Never been tempted to check my meter with calipers though.
  14. So why after 37 years is this suddenly an issue. I'm pretty anal about sharpening but this is a bit much even for me.
  15. One possibility is keeping an oval bigger in the top hole and having the wrench attached to that but at the bottom of the inner, held there with a retention rubber. Wouldn't look pretty but works in my head
  16. We're identical on the diet front mate. I spend time between coffee breaks climbing though. Still have to smoke in the tree mind. Its only considerate when you've knocked a big limb out in top of the previous one.
  17. Who used to pay you to make their clocks run faster?
  18. I doubt anyone's actually measured it. They use more fuel but cut more efficiently. I doubt it makes much difference when you drive and tow a big diesel to site and then start destroying the ecosystem...
  19. He already said, just beneath a Marque F, which makes him Marque E size
  20. Beat me to it mate. Why does "golfers elbow" sound so much more tragic than tennis elbow?
  21. You've not been climbing that long have you mate? There are options that relieve the pain, drugs and cortisone etc, but they just mask the symptoms. My elbows used to give me a fair bit of grief. I looked at what was causing it. Likely was one handing a 201 far more than was necessary, and holding my weight with one hand while i tended slack. I've bought a mini topper since, and still try to minimise unnecessary one handing (with a bit of trying you can really cut back on this). I also use srt as much as I can, and use a zig zag and often a foot ascenderto the the strain off my arms on ddrt. On dismantles using your spikes effectively is a big help too, I've never understood why people pull themselves up a rope so much on dismantles.
  22. Harder, I reckon. To the point that if I needed a solid bloke for rigging it would be easier to use a climber.
