    Files.

I doubt the .3mm would affect performance by much. I use 5.2mm files wether I buy Stihl or Oregon chain.
  2. Aah, the ol' "splash 'n' dash"!
  3. Yup, 3-5 years if you get caught doing it in a library!
  4. So basically, is it worth the risk, for an £80 piece of kit that is tax deductible?
  5. Autotune is great for a pro saw in use every day, it optimises performance, but like most things electronic, when it goes wrong you're buggered. The 365 is a time tested grafter. No fancy gimmicks, just torque. Plus, its an easy mod to make it into a 372, if that's your thing. You won't regret the 365, but if you're in a budget, a Stihl 038 is a good plodder on an 18", stupidly well built, reliable and easy to use.
  6. Yeah, he sharpened the teeth. Fwiw I get people's hesitance to the e-carbs. We don't like what we can't understand.
  7. My double cross cut saw is so much more reliable than modern saws, never had any carb issues, and is proper cheap on fuel... It's so easy to look back on saws of the past with rose tinted specs.
  8. What he said. I've dropped some big lumps at work with an Ali crab. That said our heavy line doesn't have a crab on thee sod it so I use knots.
  9. Sure your sharpening's up to scratch?
  10. Hmm, I'll be happy to pit my 441 against a your 560 if you're ever in the area The Husqy is a higher revving saw, but I doubt it would have the grunt to keep up with the 441 in bar length timber, where the extra displacement comes into it's own. I also run a 357 (the 560's predecessor) on a 15" bar with a higher gearing. This is the saw that got sent to Spud, and came back really angry.
  11. It'll pull 25 if you're patient and it's razor sharp. It's happier on a 20" though. I wouldn't use it on a longer bar unless you really needed to. To, you reckon a 560 would out cut it on a 20"?
  12. If you have decent spikes then they're flipping comfy with Geckos spiking is no different than with Airstreams.
  13. Unless you use a haas regularly they would be almost over engineered for you. For climbing work the Werewolfs are very good. Light, comfy, with saw protection. Mine are my favourite walking boots as well as on decent climbs.
  14. I would have unclipped and jumped down for the cup of Columbian Filter coffee I was given yesterday! To be honest I reckon there aren't many people who are geared up for that kind of work over here. Anyone got a 300' rigging line? I wouldn't fancy thrusting up that one after my two lunch time roll ups either!
  15. I bet the cambium loves it too. May as well just wear spikes.
  16. What have your suppositories got to do with the question?!
  17. You're running a 70cc saw with a 36" bar!? I'm guessing it's not stock? Skip chain?
  18. Oh I use a 201 and like it, I just assumed the Pro's had all gone Husky long ago
  19. Cracking vid. I always enjoy seeing others use the "gypsy slash" cut! Surprised to see you using a 201 though! Bet you'll be looking forward to some fruit tree pruning after that big mother!
  20. Indeed. Mine was brown when it went and orange when it came back!
  21. Pleasure to meet you too It was the first event where I've actually met a lot of these people ( who my girlfriend refers to as "Internet friends"). Some very knowledgable and friendly people, it was quite humbling. Was great fun mate, really enjoyed it. Absolutely shattered now, I almost fell asleep on the last hour of the drive back. Cheers for the food, now go practice your shooting for next time!
