  1. Yeah, just drop it down the end if the garden, would ya?
  2. Nice work Ian. Why the short window? And what's up with the TM? I'd be looking for a deal there.
  3. I like my wrench more than my Mrs. What's yer point?
  4. Or just ascend with the wrench and don't bother switching to ddrt?
  5. That, and the extra force tearing out an anchor point if the system got snagged. If you're really too old, fat, lazy or generally knackered to get up a tree buy one of them wrapt or things. I've been pulled up a tree by 3 burly groundies before, for funsies, but I'd never let myself or entwine get winched up.
  6. Not smart at all.
  7. For some reason it only works for me when I don't need a throwline. I.e. When ladders and a quick scramble to the top would be just as quick. Give me a tall tree where the first decent branch is 40' up and that throwline is going anywhere except where I want!
  8. Gwan Jamie! Heavy lump that!
  9. Yeah I was climbing. Not to bad for the lads either. Most of it got roped down next to the chipper. Monday will be more fun when I crash down the garden side
  10. That's the one.
  11. Yeah that's a sod. No such drama here though. Rigged the roadside stuff onto the pavement. No tidy up, just lean the fence panels back up!
  12. Started a big Monterey Cypress dismantle today. Gotta be 5' dbh. I'll get pics next week.
  13. Thanks for posting. So far I've been using base ties for access then isolating my tip with a pinto butterfly, and getting a groundie to untie the base anchor. IMO base ties (and even lowerable base ties) are fairly pointless anyway, considering the associated risks.
  14. I'm guessing the original phrase was "i rest my case"
  15. Back in my day we had to climb 200' elms with nothing but rope braided from our beard hairs, whilst fighting the Gerrys off with our silkys!
  16. Simple really. The potential increase in sales to be made by making it midline attachable are not enough to justify the expense of completely redesigning and re manufacturing a product. Think about it. What percentage of potential buyers decided not to get one just because it wasn't midline attachable? It didn't stop you, or any other user! Fwiw my hitchclimber is midline attachable. Still stays on my line 90% of the time though!
  17. What I was getting at was: Say you wanted to make £3k a week for your team. You'd rather do that in 4 days rather than 5, right? So if you're inundated at £600 a day, you put your prices up to £750. You lose 20% of the jobs you were getting, but you're still making the same money.
  18. Matty, I use the cheap file guides that clip onto the files. I'm fine with angles but like you find myself putting a bit too much hook on. These work a treat and cost a tenner.
  19. Yup! A cynical person might think they were after our money!
  20. Surely if you're doing 30% less work for the same money that's a good thing?
  21. I got on the wagon by accident once. Miserable place, full of dull and miserable people. Got off at the next stop. Vowed never again. I've just been given my 1000 days off (the wagon) token.
  22. Are you using a loop or an eye to eye? I'd buy a length of cheap church cord and try some different knots. swabisch prussik works well.
  23. Hahahaha!
  24. Armor Prus and Cougar Blue are both made by Donaghy's. I think Nod at treeworker can source both. Might be a bit dear though.
