  1. Ms461 Great saw from what I've heard. 20-25" bar no problem
  2. That's ridiculous, next you'll be suggesting he cut and chucked the lot!
  3. Actually 70cm from eye to eye seems to be about standard.
  4. Get a Tpo on it. Not that it'll stop some people mind!
  5. Don't know off the top of my head mate but I'll measure up when I get home. Arbortec make the Breatheflex. Very good company to deal with. If you ring up I'm sure they'd be happy to help out. Any more personal info and you'll need to buy me a drink first.
  6. Nope, high metabolism and erratic eating habits mean I can eat what I like and still weigh in at just less than a wet fart. Yesterday's dinner was a 16oz burger with chorizo, cheese, Garlic butter and chips, with a side of beer. Still 60kg!
  7. I have a 28" waist and the XS Breatheflex are nice and snug.
  8. We have the Janeson ones at work. They're decent, and cheaper than the AUS, but still not cheap. I bought a set of Stein poles with lopper head and Saw blade for around £150 from Jones' They seem good quality, and you can buy extra lengths for a reasonable price. Not insulated though.
  9. By all means, flog the husky topper. I'm sure the new stihl is a grand saw. The 357 is a gem though. I got mine ported and I'd never lose it. When I get time I'll upload a vid of it.
  10. Buy a dozen spare clutch bearings. That should give you a chance to get it run in
  11. I'd be keeping the 357 until I'd decided if I liked the Stihl. It's predecessor the 361 was brilliant (I still run one) but reviews of the 362 haven't been sparkling.
  12. I'd suggest keeping the 357. Great saws. I got mine ported, put a faster sprocket on it, and a 15" bar. Great fun. My take on selling kit is this: you might get £300 for that saw. That'll be gone within a few weeks, and unless you seriously need the cash, you'll have nothing to show for it. If you keep it, you'll always be able to use it.
  13. How the hell did you manage that!?
  14. What about if you don't use the chai brake?
  15. Hahaha love it! Killed some poplars today. 3rd climb on SRT. Beginning to make so much sense now, I was flying! Asked a lot of the inexperienced groundies on the rigging. Balance slinging big limbs. Only one bash to the streetlight. I told the lad on the ropes that if it happened again I would " enter him without lubrication". Unfortunately for me he was better after that.
  16. Think it's similar to an o-rig. Keeping the system far away so you just pull under the hitch. Not really a very appropriate set up for anything other than ascent.
  17. I reckon moving through a canopy you'd be asking for the brake handle to be wrenched off. On my 201t I just have an old crab through the strop ring. I use the plastic loop on the husky topper, and on the 150 I use the side handle.
  18. Do Echo and Dolly make braces? Hi Andrew PM me price MATE thanks!
  19. Cracking result Steve! It's amazing how much some guys contribute! This spirit is what makes the forum, IMO.
  20. Fair enough. I'd love to be able to just knock a door and climb their tree for fun!
  21. I don't think you get it mate. It's not just a slice of lemon. The rent, bills, wages all cost. This person wasn't in desperate need of that drink, and was wrong to walk in, get their order taken, and served, for nothing. If you can't afford it, don't go in! As for your freebie, no problem if you're working next door, but if that person had called you out of your house, to drive out to do that job, you're losing money by not charging.
  22. And all these comparisons to free bits whilst doing a job are irrelevant. The customer wasn't buying anything else.
  23. Why would you go into a cafe if you didn't have any money to pay? That's taking the piss more than charging £2!
