  1. I've got a 42" GB bar lo pro for milling off Rob D Cuts well but I don't think you'd save much in the kerf. I'm thinking of cutting some cladding too, it would be interesting to find out how many extra boards per log you'd get from a band saw verses the cost of getting someone in Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. Cheers mark, a touch over two days mate I think lol. It was one long day sandwiched between two half days. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app

  8. I always go for type c's, I don't climb but feel happier and warmer;-) with all round protection. I knew a lad that got his calf severed by another users kick back, bad work practice was at fault but the resulting injury certainly played on my mind. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app

  13. Hey Dave, can you post up more details please on making your own sando flex refills? Cheers buddy
  14. These could be good for whittling On a more serious note, the sugi hara anti vibe gloves are pretty good and you can wash them too which is always a plus. If you want chainsaw protection, the stein ones are good and not stupidly expensive. I don't normally wear gloves as I find they aggravate a recurrent skin problem.
  15. I need to submit a quote for a potential commission and I'm trying to work out material costs. Can anyone enlighten me on cost per hoppus, or cubic foot/meter? I need to factor in haulage to me on top of road side price. Secondly any idea on weight of wrc say 3 logs 4m x 30cm? Thanks Si Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. A quick update on this, finally finished him today. Just needs a bit of oil before installation.
  17. Neoprene weightlifting wrist supports are pretty good. They have a hole for your thumb to poke through and they're adjustable so you can Velcro them on tight if you need to. No idea if they're good for climbing but they do give you extra support and keep your wrists warm Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app

  19. Hi Rob and welcome to the forum. Not aware of any neck/shoulder guards mate but you can get chainsaw protective jackets. If they are anything like the trousers you will get very hot very quickly. I would avoid cheap makes of saws, they are difficult to fix when things go wrong, better to get a home owner class of saw from the established names, stihl, husqvarna, echo etc. Keep your chain sharp and search on YouTube for inspiration :-) Cheers, Si Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. Yeah, I'll probably glue a slither in, least it missed his head :-) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. This is the last piece for the trail, another farmer bunching asparagus on the end of a bench. Work in progress, and almost done. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
