  5. I've been commissioned to carve another hollow tree house but the customer wants gnarly branch features off the trunk. I was thinking of utilizing a windblown and up ending it so the root plate forms the branches. Only problem is I don't have one. If you are around north west area and have something suitable please let me know. Cheers, Si Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. That sounds like a more accurate test Rob, personally I just want to know how it compares with my current set up on a 36" If I can get this current job finished I will hopefully get a spare day next week to experiment :-) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  7. I've just got one of the GB 42" bars off Rob to run on my 066. Should give me around 36" clearance on the mill. I've not had a chance yet to mill with it but I want to do a time trial between 42" lo pro and a 36" standard 3/8 I have had a quick trial with it off the mill and found it was very grabby. It ran like it had another 20cc. I expect it will behave better in the mill. Wouldn't like to hit a nail with though! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  8. Just a little update on this, I finally went with trestles and scaff boards. Two rows of three trestles, four 10ft boards wide each running down each side of the tree and then five or six boards spanning across the front. Works well and easy to dismantle and re erect as you go. I'll put some pics up again once I'm done. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. That's great! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. I've been looking at getting a 3120 but it seems husqvarna only do solid nosed bars as standard. Not just still who are behind the times. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. Great job, ease back into it bud. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app

  14. Looks good mate but I suspect cost of wood and haulage to me would prove too costly. What sort of weight is it? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  15. Puts some pics up mate Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. Yes Gus, maximum span for 38mm boards its 1.37 m 50mm boards up to 2.44 Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. Yes, I did the sheep and her lamb that looks like a piglet:-) I've got some pics but half of them have a blurry spot from a rain drop. I thought it was on my specs not the lense doh! It was a tough day, I'm still aching but good fun and great company. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. I've got the triton one, pretty good but yes I clipped the metal once. I'd like to adapt the legs so that you can tilt it or back or forwards a little. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app

  21. First bench done for a local sculpture trail, telling the story of what the first farmers had to do to create farm land on the coast. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. No worries, just have a go mate. Not sure on the APF yet, I'm on the reserve list but I may head down anyway. One of the best ways to learn is by watching them at these events, YouTube is pretty helpful too. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. Cool, love the tail fin:-) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. Cannon and sugi are about the best bars. Oregon sculptor bars are about £60 and may suit you if only carving now and then. As said before a smaller saw would be easier and they will have a standard bar mount C1 I think. You will need a quarter sprocket too to run carving chain. Not sure about sugi but cannon also do the bigger S1 mount that would fit your 261. You can get 3\8 picco and 1/4 rims for that saw, I run a couple on the older 026's Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. :-) I like your thinking gray git, when we visit the folks in Ireland my girls put honey in acorn cups and leave them for the fairies along the lane next to the trickling streams. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
