  1. Thanks Will, each one does get better, I've a fair few to get through until I'd be happy though ;-) practice makes perfect or near dammit. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app

  7. That's lovely mate, nice one! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  8. I've got one of those flat wand types that security staff use. It still leaves a little guess work to hidden stuff like occluded barbed wire but seems to ping metal buried to about 3". Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. Nice carving buddy! Ian, that is Dave smiling ;-) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. Do the confor shows have a chainsaw carving element to them? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. Pm sent :-) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. This last year has been a big improvement on previous years, a couple of big public commissions has put money in the bank and made the struggle to get here well worth it. As for next year, I'm hoping to pull in enough work to go full time as a pro carver and give my Mrs a well earned break from the job she hates. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. As said before its the rear handle version of the top handle climbing saw. It is pricey but is a great carving saw, I don't know why husky haven't developed a back handle version of their new topper? They have with the battery one so why not? A bit of competition may even drive the prices down. I would gladly trial one ;-) I assume most sales of these rear handles is from carvers, if you want a good light saw for general work you might be better going for the ms 241 Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. What a great future memento David, nice touch with the brackets too, much smarter than the usual mass produced offerings. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  15. Tickets bought, well done again Steve and the crew. Good luck to everyone, especially me ;-) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. Lol he does look like someone out of a spaghetti western. It will be sound bites from folk who actually worked on the farm and surviving family, relaying their memories during the thirties and forties. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. Thanks buddy :-) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. Thanks everyone :-) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. Thanks Bill, and thanks David. Been about four weeks all told, there was some additional work stabilizing some rot and fitting a wind up audio unit in the back of the slab. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. Carved this guy a couple of months back for a local trail, he went in with no problems thankfully. Wedges will be trimmed off and the surrounding area will be landscaped so it will hopefully look like the tree was always there. The guy was a famous asparagus farmer and he is now looking out over the fields he once farmed. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. Thanks for your inputs on this, both interesting and helpful :-) Saw will now be prefitted with 1\4 sprocket so no worries on that score. I will however have a close look at the differences between the two. Incidentally, I also have a 1\4 sprocket for an 09 so will see if that will fit also :-) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. Merry Christmas arbtalkers! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. I've just been told the 201 sprockets are about 1mm smaller in depth so a 200 sprocket would rub on the side cover of a 201 That's put and end to that then, but I assume you could put a 201 sprocket on a 200 without issue. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. Does anyone know if the standard 3\8 sprocket fits both saws? As that's more common some of you guys may well have already tried them. Think I'll just phone a dealer up and see if he can compare them for any differences. I would have thought they'd be the same like you say just altering some of the part number might not mean there's any actual physical difference. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. The ms 200 one is 1129 640 2051 (with worm drive) I guess as they have different part numbers they are not interchangeable, ah well will have to put that on to my shopping list :-) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
