  1. If you decide you don't like it I'd be interested in acquiring it
  2. Ha cheers Mark, one of the rangers dog's climbed up and licked his face 😄
  3. I've got the dremel 4000 but not used it yet. Not tried them before so don't know how it compares to the 3000

    Walnut

I think forest to furniture has already milled it
  5. Thanks guys, couple of hrs I think
  6. Hi Peter, you can carve it straight away mate.
  7. I didn't know the guy but I saw on carving post forum that he passed away in Feb. RIP Michael Martineau here's the link if you are interested. Carving Post Forum: Michael Martineau passing
  8. 7" slab near the centre of the log is to be a Celtic cross for one of the local churches. Two of the off cuts from this would make nice fireplace mantles. The rest will get planked for future, but yes some form of furniture beckons 😃
  9. Hi mate, 're post this on the milling forum on here. Try woodlots as well.
  10. Found the nail from yesterday, must have been in there a long time!
  11. Do you think there's much value in having them re sawn on a band mill? Think they are 3" boards, although annoyingy I buggered set up which would equate to about half inch loss truing up

    Cedar

Shame your not closer to me, be Great to carve.
  13. Hi John, I normally mill with a standard 36" bar but if the logs are over 30" then the 42" goes on. The 066 runs it pretty well, cos it a lo pro the thinner kerf cancels the added stress on the saw. Only downside is the thinner chain gets mashed at the first sign of metal👎
  14. Pulled a few boards of this before hidden metal killed my chain. 42" gb lo pro on 066.
