  1. 4m minimum, and that horticultural netting if you can be arsed. I had a sizable slither fly off today and it went about 6 m and landed on a neighbouring marquee. Good job it wasn't heading for the crowd
  2. Daniel Cordell is in Devon, not too far off. He's an amazing carver. You should be able to get his details off Google.
  3. Scott's pine, was it Richard Austin who carved the apf one?
  4. Cheers Dave and Gary, already talking this through with Sean.
  5. Well it was 40 min including a tea break
  6. Been practicing my speedcarves
  7. Thanks Rick, pick away 😉 Ones without back rests are easy enough
  8. Thanks Bert, Yes mate, the budget didn't really cover buying in a log so I used oak offcuts that I had. The lion end was one block, the other end was one large book supporting the plank with three separate books glued on top. Worked out pretty well 😃
  9. Small bench based on schools logo
  10. Cheers N, what's the deal with carving at this? Do carvers get paid, expenses etc? Do organisers keep the work? Cheers, Simon
  11. Hi mate, my phone won't translate into English, I can't do this year but would still like to know the details
  12. Prices ranged from about £500 to £1300 I think. There were some bargains to be had. A few were more expensive but didn't make the reserve.
  13. Some pics from the weekend, missing a few so please add to these if you have some.
  14. My woodfest ent, was a great show with some fantastic work this year. I'll try and post pics of everyone's work later.
  15. Too right, that sort of sheet would put me right off milling ! Glad no-one got hurt
  16. Sounds like it just wasn't quite tight enough on the clamps, I've had a bit of movement in the past from using a chainsaw spanner. Got myself a ratchet spanner and that has cured it. That extra 1/4 turn really gripped the bar tight.
  17. Sold to Shaun, thanks mate. I'll be carving variations of this if anyone is interested pm me. Thanks, Si
