  1. All gone mate, but I have another burry log off the same tree. I'll be cutting some boards from it next month or so
  2. Nice batch of work there Shaun 👍
  3. Agreed Jonathan, but needed doing there and then 😃
  4. About 36" by 8 ft by 2&1/4"
  5. Freshly cut and showing some lovely figuring.
  6. Well what can I say, the winch works great! I weighed the far end down with some oak offcuts just to be certain of no lift. Brilliant idea , will definitely save my back and elbow 😃
  7. Hi, I'm after some hollow/ rotted out logs. They need to be straight and no bigger than 10" diameter. Lengths 4 to 6 ft. I know this is limiting my options but if anyone comes across any please keep me in mind before they get logged. Cheers, Si
  8. Ian it was an offcut from my main piece mate
  9. Cheers guys, it's certainly better than being stuck in an office 😜
  10. Probably be doing a simple bench Dave, aiming to make it a profitable venture unlike previous years 😄
  11. Cheers guys, yes Ian you're right mate, I couldn't think of their name lol
  12. Finally got around to getting a winch, not used it yet but fitting it was easy. Rob I saw your vid on fitting a winch and have a much simpler fix for the small nub nut. Instead of drilling out the channel in the mill to allow it to drop in, I simply loosened the nut to allow the nub bolt to drop enough to slide into the channel in the same way the main bolt does. I 've attached a closeup to show this. Both nuts can be loosened to slide the winch to best position then tightened up again.👍
  13. Bet that cost a pretty penny Steve
  14. One of my speed carves from the weekend, 25 min, getting quicker 😃
  15. Can someone please post a link to a free version of this 😉 ta
  16. Elm bench in memory of a well loved allotment gardener
  17. Milling during hot spells will increase chances of splitting, surface checking.
  18. Nice one Ian, looks good ! Main thing is the customer is pleased with it, every piece I do and I'm sure I'm not alone has elements I'm not totally happy with. We learn and improve from each job. From what I can see from the photo you've done a great job, stumps are always trickier than studio carves as you don't have the luxury of moving it to a better working position.
  19. Haha cheers, no one's asked for autograph yet 😉
  20. Cheers Steve, that's good to know 😁
  21. Don't suppose you have the part number for these pesky bolt plugs?
  22. Cheers for that Peatff:001_smile: Might be worth getting some new ones just incase Don't understand the need to make life more complicated, what was wrong with the older style mufflers? Easy to remove and no disposable parts!!
