  1. Got a nice waterproof and some pfanner arborist pants today, that felt like Christmas 😄
  2. Shane, sorry it was a typo. Introducing "Tugger"
  3. Picked mine up today, looks and feels great! Didn't get a chance to test it as the sun came out this afternoon lol. Loving my Pfanner kex too , well comfy 😁 Thanks again guys, couldn't recommend you enough!
  4. Hi Jon, thank you. Hope I've not let the cat out of the bag 😯
  5. I was told modern saws need semi synthetic oil, switched from stihl red to husq LS, only a wee bit dearer.
  6. Yes woodfest is a great one to try, anyone can apply but there's a lot more carvers than places so you would really need a portfolio of work to show what you can do. Small village fairs are a good starting point, gets you used to being gawped at and adds to your catalogue of work. Most of the shows have a speed carve so practice getting something done in 30 min
  7. I'm certainly no expert but in my experiences in milling the chip/dust resembles the floury dust you'd get from cross cutting with a blunt chain 😄 Looks like a cracking saw, bet there's some weight in that beast!
  8. Carve Carrbridge was the first comp I got into, you could also try the Living Heritage shows. If I get my act together Carve Up The Coast will be happening again this year too
  9. I'd be interested in those terms, but just thinking aloud, flying with saws isn't possible so if either have to borrow kit over there or drive over.
  10. Fair point on the climbing front but the atlas do come in bright colours too 😊. Going by price the Ventura being dearer is probably the nicer jacket, although the atlas looks to be harder wearing and has a hood attached in the price.
  11. That I don't know mate, probably best to contact them before a purchase. I don't climb so I never spotted that as an issue.
  12. Just a quick update, I've spoken with Pfanner and they have clarified a few of my questions. The Atlas jacket is classed as a work jacket, the Ventura is more of a leisure jacket. The Atlas waterproof trousers are not recommended to be worn over chainsaw trousers as they are actually work pants not over trousers. They recommend the Gladiator Extreme waterproof trousers instead. I've only seen these in type A but am waiting to hear if they do a type C version. Hope this helps some of you with decisions on waterproof gear. cheers, Si https://www.pfanner-shop.com/index.php?p=product&id=503&parent=5 https://www.pfanner-shop.com/index.php?p=product&id=575&parent=75
  13. Shame, that's way too expensive for my budget
  14. Cheers Darrin, here's a link to jacket and trousers http:// http://www.treekit.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=atlas Those coveralls look good, no price that I could see
  15. Get the biggest mate, you will lose 6" on bar length so a 48" should allow you to mill up to 42" If you think you could need bigger I think they do a 56" one. What saw are you looking to mill with? 880 would be ideal but a 660 will do you fine up to 30" logs.
  16. Has anyone given these a try? I know loads really rate the cut&climb and they're bringing out the trousers this month but I'm wondering what the atlas jacket and trousers would be like.
  17. Thanks, earlier post one was bolted backrest, seat was screwed at 45° from below. Latest was same apart from seat screwed through from outside uprights and then plugged.
